Destination To and Not to Return To

0:34

Insurance and get ready to embark on a new adventure with us around the globe.

Hello fellow travelers.

Hey.

Squatty.

Welcome to this week’s episode of the Travel Squad podcast.

Today we’re talking about destinations we would and would not return to.

0:51

So we’re going to give you our top three of woods for each of us and Woodens.

And we’re going to sprinkle this in with some squatty feedback for you guys because we put out an Instagram poll you squatty’s chimed in, told us where you would and wouldn’t.

So we’re going to sprinkle that in here just as well and go over places that we love and also just could do without all over again.

1:12

O some destinations live rent free in your mind.

You can’t wait to go back.

You think about going back.

You’re just planning this future trip in your mind and you dream about it, but there are other destinations where you’re like, maybe we’re glad that we experienced it, but once was enough, no desire to really go back.

1:31

So I am super excited to dive into this episode and see where we align squaties.

Like Jamal said, we pulled you squaties on Instagram to see what your thoughts are.

Where’d you like to go?

Where’d you like to never return to?

Some of them I’m surprised by, Some of them I agreed with and some of, as you’ll see, have caused us to change some of our travel plans.

1:54

So thank you, Squattys.

You know, when we get to the squatty feedback here and where they chimed in, there were several of them where I was actually really excited to see it because of course the goal is to go everywhere.

In reality, will we make it everywhere?

Probably not right?

But there’s some places that Britney is like, oh, I want to go here and this just not like high on my list.

2:14

And then squattys came in saying this is a do not return to and it just made me feel vindicated.

So when we get to that, I’m going to be really excited about it.

Well, I can start.

There is a place that I have been to a couple of times that I would die to go back to and that is Greece.

2:32

I would love to go back and explore more of the Greek islands.

I’ve been to Athens, Mykonos twice and Santorini now.

Those are the most popular touristy type places of course, but I had an amazing time.

I absolutely love Greece.

I want to go back and see Milos and Perros and Crete and maybe even take a cruise that goes from island to island.

2:52

I think a cruise around the islands would be fantastic, stopping at a few different ones.

I’ve also heard really great things about Crete, so I’m like super excited to eventually make it there.

And if our upcoming trip to Lebanon this year doesn’t work out, we’re actually looking to go to Greece instead.

3:08

Whoa.

Because this is a place that Jamal has never been interested in going to.

I know, and you know what I was going to say you hyped this one up, Kim and a lot of the places or several of the places that I’m going to list as my do not returns are places that were just so over hyped.

3:25

Everyone’s like I love these places.

I go there and they’re just like, what’s so special?

I hope that when we go to Greece eventually, whenever that happens, I don’t feel that way because the way you overhyped it.

But for the most part, I feel like a lot of times we obviously align on what we’d like.

3:40

So I know you’re all about Greece for the nightlife, the beaches, and that’s not really my scene.

But I still know I’ll appreciate Greece.

But will I love it?

TBD.

It’s also the history, and you do love history.

That I do.

I’m excited for that aspect as well.

3:56

And don’t just take my word for it, because bodies Christy and Sarah both said that they would return to Greece.

So Kim, what’s Next up on your list?

For your second would return to destination.

There are so many places that I would return to.

4:12

I was looking through the list of the 26 countries that I’ve been to in the last 10 years since I started traveling, and I would go back to every single one of them.

There’s not a single country I necessarily wouldn’t go back to, but just for this list, we wanted to limited it.

And I say my second place that I would go back to is Switzerland.

4:33

I went in the summer.

It was absolutely gorgeous.

I think Switzerland is the most beautiful country I have ever been to, but I went only for five days and I was working some of those days so I didn’t get a full day all of the time there.

4:49

Saw as much as I could, Really enjoyed it.

Love the fondue.

Fondue is one of my favorite things to eat and I’d like to go back.

I’d like to explore more in the summer and go back in the winter when it’s all snowy.

Enjoy some of the amazing spas that they have there.

So I was going to put Switzerland on my list, but I saw it on your list and I was trying not to repeat any countries.

5:09

So I completely agree with you.

I would love to go back in summer when we went, it did rain a few days.

And so some of the hikes that we were planning to do did get rained out and we didn’t go on them because the limited views or we did go on them and didn’t receive the views.

So I would go back.

5:25

I want to explore more of the area.

Switzerland has so much to offer.

But good point on your part about mentioning visiting in winter because it is a great spa destination and I’m sure it’s just equally as beautiful in winter as well.

But I think Jamal is going to disagree with us on this.

5:41

You know, I’m not going to say Switzerland is a not return for me, but I didn’t really love it.

But in fairness, we had some squatty feedback who came and chimed in and we had Greca who said she would return, return and then we had Noah would not return.

5:59

He did mention it was too expensive and that it is.

That is not necessarily the reason why I would not return it.

Again, I’m not saying that I wouldn’t return, just not super high on the list as much as both of you ladies loved it.

You have mentioned that as a reason that you didn’t love it though.

6:14

Think it mostly stems to the cost of food and the food is not amazing.

That and then of course everything you want to do and, and by that of course we are hikers, me and Brittany, I’m speaking for us requires you to take a gondola or a funicular or some sort of transportation to get up.

6:35

And then that’s adding $100 to do a hike when you got to buy 2 tickets round trip.

And it’s that type of stuff that’s like all the beauty you got to pay extra to see.

And after a while it gets redundant.

That’s where kind of my issue with Switzerland was.

But I don’t get me wrong, Switzerland is breathtakingly beautiful, but food mid expensive.

6:55

It just fakes it so that it’s like not high on the return.

But if you are willing to accept that, and I know you are, then yeah, it’s a fantastic place.

Switzerland’s gorgeous.

You don’t have to accept it.

You can go back squatty’s to our episode we did on Switzerland tips.

7:11

I did this one right after we came back from Switzerland and in that episode we talked a lot about how to make it more affordable, like using the Swiss Travel Pass, which covers a lot of those funiculars and trains, and shopping at the Coop store rather than going out to eat.

7:27

Because the Coop has great food and it’s affordable.

And if restaurant food is made, you don’t need to go out to eat anyway.

You can picnic while you’re on the mountain.

I will echo your sentiment about Coop being good.

That was my favorite meals that we had were from Coop getting the rotisserie chicken and other things.

7:43

So honestly, the grocery store food was so much better than what you got in restaurants.

Unless it’s fondue, because obviously you know you’re going to go to Switzerland, you’re going to get fondue.

And I have A to make the fondue more affordable too in that episode.

So squatty’s go back and listen to it.

Don’t let Jamal steer you away.

8:00

You will love Switzerland.

I’m not.

I’m just saying that Noah kind of agreed with me, that’s all.

And Kim, give us your last destination that you would go back to.

I mean, I know you said you’d go back to most places, but what lands in your top three?

I would go back to Iceland.

8:15

I went here on my first and at this point my only solo trip.

I went in the dead of winter.

It was gorgeous, I loved it.

I had the best time.

It was so easy to get around and book tours and just gorgeous.

But I would like to go back in the summer.

8:31

I want to see those long days.

You know in the winter the daylight is only 5 hours or so.

In the summer you have all the daylight and I could drive myself around the country rather than taking tours.

You may still do tours, but I just want to see it all green and colorful and beautiful in that sense.

8:48

You know, Kim, we did it in summer.

I know you were aware of that, loved it during the summer.

I enjoyed Iceland very thoroughly.

So I like how kind of two of your repeats are to see them in different seasons, in summer and in winter.

You saw Iceland in winter, now you want to see it in summer.

9:03

You saw Switzerland in summer, now want to see it in winter.

Both of those good destinations for that.

And Iceland has so much to offer.

You’re right.

We went in summer.

It’s so green, lush, waterfalls are abundant, they’re flowing.

There’s so many different canyons to explore.

You have the beaches and lagoons as well.

9:20

We mostly stayed on the South side of the island so when we go go back I would love to explore the northern part of the island because we didn’t get to completely drive the Ring Rd. we mostly focused on the South and the east portion and then of course Reykjavik in the West.

9:36

But there’s still so much more to explore, even though it’s somewhat of a smaller island.

So Kim, I know you said you’d go to most places, but there’s got to be a few places.

You’re like, all right, I don’t have to return here.

So start us off with your #1.

9:53

You know this is going to make some people upset to hear.

I think, honorary squaddies, you’re going to make upset with this first one that you’re going to mention.

Both of the places I only have two.

I couldn’t actually think of three.

My first one is Oklahoma.

10:08

Both of.

These.

As an entire state and both of these that I’m going to say they have an asterisk on them because Oklahoma I’ve been to a few times for work.

I drove from Austin or I flew another time.

There’s like nothing to see out there, nothing to do out there.

10:24

But the asterisk is honorary squaddies Casha and Ryan live in Oklahoma.

We have talked about doing a little trip out there where we would rent a boat out on the lake and stay in this lake house, and that sounded really nice.

So I might give Oklahoma another chance, but only for that.

10:43

Brittany, you tried to get me to fly to Oklahoma City and meet you there for a weekend trip.

And I looked into it and I said absolutely not.

You know, Jamal and I are on a mission to hit all 50 States and we needed to knock Oklahoma off.

10:59

Would it count if we’ve only seen gas watch in the very corner of Oklahoma?

No.

Would it count just to go visit friends at their home?

I just, I don’t think that’s enough.

So we made a trek, Jamal and I, to Oklahoma City.

11:14

We tried to get Kim to come.

We were unsuccessful.

But I I will say it wasn’t that exciting and there’s not a lot to bring me back to Oklahoma.

We do have honorary squaddies, Casha and Ryan that lived there, and then Jamal and I also have an old roommate that lives there with her fiance and they bought a house there and they really want us to come out.

11:35

And she actually just texted me today asking when we’re going to go do the food tour of Oklahoma and that she would take us.

Around the food tour.

You know what, I will say this, when we went to Oklahoma, they have decent, good southern style food, even though it’s not really the South, right, You’re going to find good food there.

11:52

I’m excited about that.

Broken Bow is an area to where if you like nature, forests should be nice.

We have not been.

We just drove through and went to Oklahoma City when we had gone.

Stopped a few places along the way.

So I don’t necessarily say I disagree with this one, but also at the same time I like how you gave it an asterisk because I do think that there is potential.

12:15

So you said your second destination also has an asterisk, so why don’t you tell us about that?

The second country that I will not return to, or very unlikely to return to, is 1.

We just went to and that’s Egypt.

And you loved Egypt.

I did love Egypt and everyone that I’ve been running into is asking how is Egypt, did you love it?

12:35

And my answer is always the same.

I absolutely loved being around that 4000 year old history, seeing the temples, the tombs, the pyramids, the colors carved into the paintings and beautiful.

Amazing right?

Love the history, but after you’ve seen it once I don’t feel like I need to go back and see it again.

12:55

You know, I can agree with you on that.

Like we saw, and I saw almost everything I wanted to see.

If I were to go back, I would probably go to Alexandria or the Red Sea.

But I don’t feel like I have to repeat anything that we already did.

And that’s my asterisk.

13:11

There is Farsha, which has this amazing bar restaurant that gets all let up red at night.

It’s really, really cool looking.

And then the beach clubs at the Red Sea also look really amazing.

But then again, there’s beach clubs in a lot of places that are really amazing, so I don’t think those alone would draw me back to Egypt.

13:28

I don’t think I’m probably my lifetime.

I may never return to Egypt and I’d be OK with it.

And our squatty Christie had the same sentiment.

She went on a Gate 1 tour as well and she said she would not return.

She actually I think got in like a day or two early and tried to book a via tour and it was not what was advertised.

13:49

It was supposed to be a food tour and they took her to like someone’s house and had like someone cook there.

And then I think she tried to book another one and things just didn’t work out.

And Egypt is a place where there can be a lot of scams and it can be difficult to visit if you’re not on a guided tour.

14:09

And I just don’t think she enjoyed her experience when she wasn’t on the tour.

But I did ask her how did she like the tour?

And she loved it, but she said she wouldn’t go back.

It’s one of those countries that she can get in, see it all, do it all, and then mark it off your list.

So I think I’m going to go next ladies, if that’s OK, and I’m going to talk about my 3 Wood returns.

14:30

I think if the squaties have listened to any episodes before, they could probably tell at least one country which is coming.

We’ve already been to it twice, me and Brittany.

And I would go back again and again because I love this country, I love the culture, I love everything about it.

And that is Japan and I can’t get enough of it.

14:49

I really love the culture, the people, the food.

Even the nature out there is beautiful.

I mean, we were there at the just start of cherry blossom season and we didn’t get to see it in full bloom, but nevertheless, that was beautiful even when we were in Mount Fuji.

15:05

And then we went to places that are a little bit more in nature, like Kyoto.

It’s a large city, but it’s not built up in skyscrapers and you have nature all around.

So it’s just this beautiful balance of everything, like the quirkiness of their culture, their food.

15:20

Loved Japan.

And we had lots of squaddies chiming in, of course agreeing that Japan is a return country.

Yeah, we did have several different squaddies say that they would return here.

We had Christie say she would, Reagan say she would.

Noah said specifically Tokyo and Frangipani Holidays also said they would return, too.

15:40

And we loved Japan so much.

We’ve been twice.

We’ve been to Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Nara, Nara.

Yeah, and there’s still so many other places is that I would love to explore in Japan.

Jamal mentioned that there is a lot of nature in Japan, and we actually haven’t done any hiking in Japan, but there are some really beautiful national parks.

16:01

I would love to go back and soak in some onsens, spend some more time near Mount Fuji and Hakone and even see some of the Japanese islands.

Yeah.

And, you know, a lot of times, at least for me, I feel like you could go to a city and be done with the cities and like, oh, I saw it all over.

16:17

Like I did enough.

There’s only so much you could do even if you do different things.

But I feel Japan is the complete opposite of that.

I feel like we could go to Osaka again, Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima, and it’s going to be a different experience every time, even though you’re in the same city.

16:33

So it has that type of feel to it.

But my number 2, two places to return.

I know these are technically two countries, but they are so close together and kind of the same that I lumped them into one.

And that is Spain and Portugal.

16:49

As I’m getting older, a lot of my places that I really love happened to be around food and lifestyle.

And I just really love the food in Spain and Portugal, the markets, cafes, just sitting, having coffee, the history, the architecture, and there’s just so many more places that I want to go.

17:07

And these regions, when we went to Portugal, for example, we didn’t go to Porto in Spain, we didn’t really do a lot of the South and Mediterranean region such as Cadiz, Alhambra.

And of course, I do want to go to the north and go to the Basque.

But something about it, like I just see on Thrifty Traveler all the time actually deals to Spain.

17:26

And I’m always so intrigued to just book it in that moment because you could find really good deals.

And even when you’re in Spain and Portugal, costs are not very high.

So I love it for that as well.

Squatty’s Jamal Just mentioned Thrifty Traveler.

We’ve talked about it before, but just to remind you, Thrifty Traveler has a premium subscription service.

17:45

When you sign up for that, they will e-mail you flight deals, hotel deals, some of these insane deals that will make you want to book a spontaneous trip to Spain right away.

So go to thriftytraveler.com/premium and check that out for yourself.

18:04

Kim, why do you think it is that you haven’t made your way to Spain and Portugal yet?

I don’t know, actually.

So many people I talked to about travel will ask me that.

Have you been to Spain?

Have you been to Portugal?

And it is a fan favorite among so many people.

But for whatever reason, I haven’t had this huge pool to go.

18:22

I definitely want to, and I’m sure it’s amazing.

I’ve heard from so many.

I do want to go to Spain a little bit more than Portugal.

If I had to pick between the two, there’s some islands around Spain that I would also like to go go to Mallorca, Ibiza.

I want to go to San Sebastian up in the north, but for whatever reason it just hasn’t made it to the top five priority list.

18:42

I’d put it up there, Kim.

I really think you would have a fantastic time in Spain.

And I can totally see you liking the islands and that draw being to Spain, but I think I actually prefer Portugal over Spain.

And I really did like the food in Spain.

18:58

I’d probably say the food in Spain is probably better, but I loved Portugal.

I think we went to an island and I loved everything about it.

But I would love to go back to the Azores because we didn’t make it there.

And Lisbon was just so cool to visit.

There was so much architecture and history, and it’s just a wonderful city to explore and see.

19:17

And then like Jamal mentioned, I’d love to go up to Porto and try some port wine there.

But I love both locations so much.

Ironically, Kim, you said it’s a fan favorite and no squad.

He’s chimed in as this is a repeat location for them or wanting to go back.

So I’m really happy that I put it on the list because these two are standout countries for me that I love.

19:37

But my final would go back to want to go back to.

I think about it all the time still and that is Thailand.

And I can say what is there not to love about Thailand except for the potential of terrible humidity and heat at certain times.

19:53

But even still with that, everything about it I fell in love with when I was there, from the temples to the food to the nature, because we actually did a nature hike when we were out there and kind of in the jungle a little bit.

You have the islands that you can go to and get that type of vibe.

20:11

And do you have the city of Bangkok, which somebody squatty chimed in Shabana and she said she would not go back.

She specifically mentions Bangkok because it was too hot and muggy and crowded.

And that’s one of the things I said.

That’s probably one of the things to not like is the heat.

20:26

But we had a very limited time in Bangkok.

It’s one of those things where we just didn’t have a lot of time because we were going to other places.

I don’t want to spend a lot of time there, but I need to spend more time there.

And maybe I’d come up with the same opinion as Shabana about Bangkok, but from my little experience in Bangkok, I loved it.

20:45

And then of course, when we were in Shanghai as well as Phuket, love the experience out there.

I want to go to Shanghai also and just go to markets, eat food, experience life out there.

There’s nothing like a crisp, clean lager, light beer on a hot day.

21:03

And you could do that all day, every day in Thailand.

I would 100% go back to Thailand too.

It’s been almost 10 years since my trip there.

I can’t believe how long it’s been and I’m dying to go back.

I was always one of my top three favorite countries.

I think Bangkok.

21:18

The pros of it are amazing rooftop bars, great culinary scene and the temples.

Yes, Bangkok does have good temples, but my favorite place that we visited in Thailand was Shang Mai.

We went to a night market and I still think about the pork that we had at that night market.

21:35

All the food is so good in Thailand.

All the time, yeah, so good and so cheap and so affordable.

But I really want to go back and visit more of the islands.

I’d love to go to Krabby, I’d love to go to Fifi Islands.

I would love to visit some more national parks in Thailand and I think Thailand is a destination you can go back to again and again and again and have a different experience every time.

21:57

So for my not returns.

First one that I want to go ahead and mention is one that.

You’re going to make someone mad.

Well, I, you know, I was, I was going to give that one last.

Actually that’s kind of where I stumbled a little bit is because I have it listed first, but I’m going to say that one last, OK.

22:15

The first place that I would say I would not return is going to be a place that we went very recently and that is Liechtenstein.

It is the 4th smallest country in the world size wise and really it has one main city which you could be done with rather quickly, probably in a couple hours.

22:34

We did do wine tasting, which of course I enjoyed there, but you could do wine tasting anywhere.

And the other activities that they have in the city are just centered really around the monarchy that they have there.

And you can hike.

But here’s the catch, Liechtenstein borders Switzerland, why not go to Switzerland instead?

22:53

Right, So I did not hate my time in Liechtenstein, but it is definitely A1 and done.

They’re also on the Swiss franc, so at the same time, if you’re already going to be paying crazy high prices, just do it in Switzerland.

That’s my thought.

That’s why I put Liechtenstein as a no go for me.

23:10

Makes sense, not a lot of reason to go back.

Yeah, I do agree with Jamal.

The only reason I would go back is if we did a hike in that region.

But like Jamal said, it borders Switzerland and it also borders Austria.

And so there are great hikes in both places.

23:25

We did spend an overnight there and we had castle views from our room, which is fantastic.

But you can do Liechtenstein in a day and we actually have a one day Lichtenstein itinerary because that’s all you need.

Yeah, if you haven’t gone honestly, I’m not saying don’t go, but clearly no need to go back.

23:45

It’s really what I’m saying here.

And the second place that I would list is also one that may be controversial, not the as controversial as the one that you are alluding to at first, Brittany, but that’s going to be Costa Rica.

And I really felt like I saw it all and I have no need to return.

24:03

How could you say that when we spent one hour on Hako Beach and that’s not even the nicest beach there?

We didn’t even touch the Caribbean side.

Well, ironically, with the name Costa Rica, they’re talking about, you know, beautiful, nice beaches.

And you’re right, we only went to the beach once.

24:20

But when I think of Costa Rica, I don’t necessarily think of the beaches.

I think of the jungle, the volcanoes, the wildlife.

And we did a lot of that.

We went to resorts, the springs.

I love the spa.

We just had a mini episode on it.

24:35

Great time.

Do I need to go back?

I don’t know.

I saw the cool national parks, the volcanoes.

Everybody who goes to Costa Rica is like, oh, it’s so great.

You could do the jungle walks with the hanging bridges.

We did that.

And again, cool, but no desire.

24:52

That’s really pulling me back and I feel like there’s a lot of other places in Latin America that I would rather go.

It’s not to hate on Costa Rica and again say to not go, just no pull for me for a Round 2.

You’re not a big beach guy and so that explains why you don’t want to go back.

25:07

But if I went back it would definitely be an Ocean Beach focus trip and maybe even do some type of like Pilates or Wellness retreat out there.

You’re right, Kim, I am not necessarily a beach person, but I do like the beach and ocean when it is tropical that it is in Costa Rica, I won’t deny it.

25:25

But like like I said, other places in Latin America, I’d rather go.

And to that point, Tulum, you give me Tulum, which I know is overpriced now and crazy and filled with tourists.

I much rather go to the beach in Tulum than go back to Costa Rica or Cancun or other places or Cabo, right.

25:41

So, and I know I just listed all Mexico places and not any other ones in Latin America, but I know there are other ones too.

But that’s where it’s just Costa Rica for me, no high desire.

Well, I can see both of your points.

I think Costa Rica is more Americanized for a Latin American country and higher prices driven because a lot of Americans go there.

26:02

But I also see the draw of visiting the beach areas and I would love to do a beach focused Costa Rica trip.

All right, girls trip.

I was going to say girls trip for you guys.

If you make it alluring to me, then we could stand corrected and maybe we could have another.

I’m already kicked out.

26:18

That’s.

That’s.

A OK, that’s a OK all right.

But now Jamal, let’s hear your last 1.

And I know this is going to make people mad.

And it’s not Charleston, so calm down, people.

Ironically, I was thinking about putting South Carolina on my list of no goes for a place, but I opted for Liechtenstein instead.

26:37

But yes, the controversial one that we are alluding to here.

You may have heard me mention this in previous episodes.

I’m just going to say it.

Maui.

Maui didn’t do it for me.

I’ve been to all of the major other Hawaiian islands such as Kauai, Big Island, Hawaii, Oahu, all of them I think substantially better than Maui.

26:56

Everyone goes to Maui and they’re like Maui, Maui, Maui.

It did nothing for me.

It was cool.

But the other islands in comparison, I think are substantially better.

But again, to each their own.

And then when he says that, they ask, did you go before or after the fires?

And we went before the fires.

27:12

So that had nothing to do with Jamal’s.

Yeah, definitely.

But you did do The Road to Haunted backwards.

That we did, but even though we did it backwards, you still really get the view.

I don’t think because you’re on the coast, it really makes a difference which way you’re driving in, right?

27:30

If there was a spot where it’s like, oh, you’re coming around the corner, you need this view because you’re coming from the right side and drive on the right side of the road.

I mean, we kind of looked.

I don’t think that’s really what it was.

Well, in addition, you didn’t stay at a nice resort on the beach, and imagine if you had how much more elevated the experience would have been.

27:50

It would have been, but we went to a lot of beach spots here as well and laid out on the beach.

And again, I know earlier Kimmy said we’re not beach people, but believe me, when we go to Hawaii, we go to the beach.

We spend a lot of time on the beach.

You’re right.

I think a location and resort where you’re staying could do it.

28:05

But our travel style when we go to Hawaii is not staying at an all inclusive like right on the the beach.

We’re going out, we’re hiking, we’re moving all around doing all this stuff.

So it could have elevated it.

But point being an island as a whole, I think the other three main islands are better.

28:21

Just going to come out and say it.

So, you know, maybe if somebody gave me a free ticket to Maui, I’d go.

But if I really had to move around my schedule to take the free ticket, I would rather not move around my schedule.

That’s what I’m going to say now.

You give me Kauai or Oahu or even Big Island.

28:37

Oh yeah, I’m trying to go back for sure.

I would say the highlight of our trip to Maui was going into Haleakala National Park and seeing the sunrise above the clouds.

That was amazing.

I would do that again.

I would go back to Maui.

28:53

I would go spend some more time at different beach areas, maybe stay at a beach resort.

But I do like all of the other Hawaiian islands more.

And if you’ve never been to Hawaii, or if you have been to Hawaii and you’re not quite sure which island is the best for you, we have an episode that goes over all of the Hawaiian islands and talks about which Hawaiian island might be the best for you based on what you like to do.

29:15

And so take a listen to it.

Yeah, and pros and cons from our experience.

So that’s really there for you.

But I will concede this point, Brittany Sunrise at Haleakala National Park was probably the best and my favorite thing that we did in Maui.

So if you’re going to go for sure do that, because there’s nothing more breathtaking than being at the high elevation in that National Park, that National Park with the right color.

29:38

When the sun’s rising, it looks like you’re on Mars, just has a unique landscape.

And then yet you’re looking over the ocean and the clouds and seeing the sun.

It’s absolutely beautiful.

All right, Brittany, you’re up.

Where would you like to return?

OK so I was preparing this list and I saw you guys had already added some and I don’t want to repeat any place.

29:58

So first up on my list, and I was actually surprised this didn’t make it on Jamal’s list, was Uganda.

Well, I wasn’t done yet making my list.

Yes, some stuff was up, but this one would have been on there.

But for the same reason you said Brittany.

No, repeat.

So I let you have Uganda.

30:14

We spent 10 days in Uganda.

I absolutely loved every minute while we were there and I love it because it’s so diverse.

You have the land safaris where you’re going to see lions, giraffes, zebras, leopards, antelope.

Then you have the river safaris where you’re going to see animals on or in the water.

30:31

In the waterfront we saw elephants swimming, we’ve seen Cape Buffalo in the water.

We’ve seen an elephant family just going up along the shore of the water as well.

You can see a lot of different animals.

Hippos and Crocs.

Oh, hippos and Crocs for sure.

30:47

But it also has primate safari, so you can trek in the forest with the chimpanzees.

You can hike to see the mountain gorillas and see a silverback so close to you.

And those are just insane experiences you won’t get in other parts of Africa.

And we’ve been to South Africa, we’ve been to Zimbabwe and I love my time in those countries, but nothing has topped Uganda for me in terms of safaris.

31:12

I concur, I love Uganda, I would go back in a heartbeat.

Honestly.

I’m ready to do another guided tour.

This was more of a luxury Gate 1 experience.

We had a maximum group number of 21 and we got super lucky because there was only seven of us.

We stayed at some of the most luxurious accommodations and one of my favorites was called the Elephant Plains Lodge and it overlooked Queen Elizabeth National Park.

31:37

We had private balconies and I was able to see an elephant fit in the plains below.

And how amazing is that?

That is unreal.

You got to sell in Uganda for me.

Kim, you got to do it.

You got to get to Africa.

You know this.

You got to, I mean, yes, you’ve been to Egypt, but that doesn’t really count.

31:54

Africa is like Safari Africa.

You know you got to get there.

So second on my list is Croatia.

We also took our gate one trip to Croatia and I just didn’t feel like we had enough time there.

Croatia is on the Dalmatian coast.

We went to three different spots.

32:09

We went to Split Brovnik and national parks and the nature out there is so stunning.

I wish we had more time to spend in the beach areas because it is on the Dalmatian coast and that water is just insanely beautiful and looks like it would be perfect for swimming or staying at a beachfront there.

32:30

But I would love to go back and spend more time exploring the country.

How much time would you say you would want or need or for a squatting that hasn’t been before or for me selfishly asking?

Well, I feel like we spent like 3 to 4 days there, but I feel like you’d want a solid week exploring different areas.

32:48

I concur, a week would be good because when you get out of the main city areas, of course you could get on highways and relatively close, but when you get out into nature, more mountain roads takes time to get out there.

Especially like when you’re going to pleat pizza, it’s far away.

33:04

We actually had to stay the night in a hotel in the National Park because it is out of the way.

So if you’re doing this on your own, I would say a week is a good time.

And several of the cities that we went to, again, split Dubrovnik, like we were there, you know, one full day, maybe 1 1/2, you know, with leaving midday.

33:22

But you could spend more time in those places for sure.

So a week is a good amount.

Croatia has always been on the top of my list of places I want to go.

I feel like it would be a good girls Trip destination.

Croatia is a great country.

Yeah, I think it’s a great Girls Trip destination and you love the beaches and the beautiful blue.

33:40

And there I, I don’t remember exactly what park it is, but there’s one that has these tiered waterfalls they can fleet.

Pizza National Park.

Oh, OK, you cannot swim at them at Fleet Pizza.

I know what you’re talking about, but I don’t know the name of the one that you could swim in.

I’ve had dreams of going there since I started discovering places to visit.

33:58

Got to get over there you.

Got to get there and Spain and Africa.

Kim lacking over.

Here you got to get going.

You do think I I’ve been to places because I travel a lot, but there’s just so many more I haven’t been to.

I feel the same way, Kim.

I feel the same way.

So the last place that I said that I would want to go back to is Argentina.

34:17

You know, that’s shocking.

I’m shocked by this one.

And Croatia for you.

Really.

Yeah.

I don’t know.

I really love both of these countries.

So we spent a few days in Argentina.

We spent some time in the Aguazu Falls area and then we also spent a few days in Buenos Aires.

34:32

So we just went like September of 2024.

And we had also gone to Brazil at the same time, which also is a great country, but I couldn’t put it on here.

I didn’t pull A2 Fer like Jamal did.

Well, I’ll tell you what, Spain and Portugal are very similar.

Brazil and Argentina are not, even though they’re close.

34:50

But I want to say the highlight of our trip to Argentina was taking a boat to the base of a Guazu Falls.

It was so fun, exhilarating.

You get completely wet, but you get so close to the falls and you can just like, really see them in all of their glory.

It’s nice to be on the boardwalks and see them from above or below because there are boardwalks that do both.

35:11

But being right there at the base of the falls on the water, there’s no experience like it.

I would highly recommend doing that.

I actually just got a text message from some of our friends that we met in Uganda and they are booking a trip to South America and they’re going to Argentina.

35:27

And she said I want the information to take the boat to her because she had remembered that we had taken it and she absolutely wants to go.

But Buenos Aires is beautiful as well.

It has a French and European influence.

It minds you a mini Europe as you’re walking around.

35:42

It has that going for it too, but I would also love to go back and explore further South and go to areas like Patagonia.

Well then, if you go there, you have to go to Antarctica.

I know right that that is on the list too.

And I do want to go to wine region in Argentina and and those we did not go to that.

36:00

I just passed up an offer to join a trip to Argentina because they didn’t know their itinerary.

They were going to kind of wing in like that’s not my favorite way to travel and they only knew that they would be going to Buenos Aires.

And it’s in the opposite side of the country from the the bordering with Chile and the Mendoza wine region where Malbec is from.

36:20

And I cannot go to Argentina without the Malbec.

Well, you can still get them all back all over the place, but I know, I know, I know, I know.

You got to go there.

I agree with you on that.

That’s another reason why I want to go back.

Brittany, you had a fantastic list because I’ll tell you what, all three of these are definitely on my repeats as well.

36:37

They’re fantastic places.

All right, Brittany, your turn to piss some people off.

OK, where would you not go back to?

My number one that I put on this list, I don’t know if it’s my number one overall, but it’s Morocco.

And I feel like this is controversial because when we were on our last trip to Egypt, we were in a group and he had us list our favorite places and I feel like half of our group said Morocco was their favorite destination.

37:03

I’ve heard a lot of people rave about it.

I don’t know why I agree with you Brittany.

I’m putting this on this list.

It’s worth going but wasn’t in love with.

It but in fairness, all of them that had gone had gone to the Sahara Desert and they camped in the desert and they had a great experience out there.

37:19

And we didn’t do that in Morocco.

We stayed in the city.

So we’re in Casablanca, Marrakech, Fez, some of those more like city spots and more market area.

We didn’t do the desert landscape as much.

And we have all ridden camels through the Arabian desert and in the the sand dunes of Dubai.

37:38

And so I feel like that is one of the reasons why we chose not to do that and add that on because we’ve had a similar experience.

I will say the architecture in Morocco is stunning.

I think it’s one of the most beautiful countries that I’ve visited architecture wise.

37:55

But the food was repetitive and wasn’t my favorite.

It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great.

I concur, Brittany.

When we got tired of Moroccan food, we went to go get Japanese food, actually.

And everybody who went with us that night was so stoked that we switched it up.

38:11

And they’re like, this is so good, you know, and I’m not just saying that because of Lebanon, you know, from there, but.

Really, Lebanon’s a country I’d go back to just for the first.

Oh yes, I don’t disagree with you on that.

I felt like I couldn’t put that on the list.

It’d be a little too biased.

So you know, I gave you three others.

I know we want to see it all, go to it all, do it all, but after your episode, I, I did not have the desire to visit Morocco even once.

38:34

Maybe my mind will change, maybe the wind will float me over there at some point in my life, but it’s definitely not high on my list.

I mean, there is a blue city that we didn’t get to go see, and I feel like you would like the blue city.

So there are things to see and do in Morocco, and I’m glad we went.

I just don’t see myself going back, all right?

38:52

Now #2.

So this is AUS state.

I know Kim, you listed a whole US state.

So I am listing a whole US state and the state that I’m is Nebraska.

I mentioned earlier we’re on a quest to visit all 50 states, so we had to visit.

We drove the entire state S to north and we stopped at Carhenge, which is like Stonehenge but with cars.

39:14

We stopped at Toadstool Geographic Park and the landscape is really unique and cool there, but there’s just not enough in Nebraska to pull me back.

I concur wholeheartedly.

You know, again, no disrespect because we’re all Americans here, right?

But I know lots of people don’t like this terminology.

39:31

Fly over state, total fly over state.

Not to say that it doesn’t add value to the US of course.

There’s lots of farming, agriculture and things like that that sustain all of us in this country.

But in terms of activities and reason to go, like when Brittany was planning it, I was like, well, what are we going to do?

39:47

Right?

And no joke, clearly Carhenge here was like top list of things to do, which is like going to a place that looks like Stonehenge made out of cars.

So yeah.

One and done.

No offense, anyone from Nebraska.

So the last destination on my list, when Jamal saw it, he goes really.

40:07

So I wonder if you guys are going to have the same reaction, but that place is Singapore.

I was surprised to see this on the list too.

You know, Singapore is one of these sought after destinations that’s so cool and futuristic and full of wealth and you hear so many people talk about it.

40:24

So surprising.

Yeah, it is a smaller country, and I feel like you only need a few days to see the highlight.

Everyone talks about the food being amazing, and we got recommendations on which food stalls to go do, which market to go to.

Everyone said to go to La Passat.

40:40

We went there.

We weren’t particularly impressed.

I don’t know if we just have really high Food Standards.

It was good, but it wasn’t my favorite food that I’ve eaten before.

And, you know, I guess it’s one with an asterisk because if we had an extended layover in Singapore, of course I would explore.

40:59

I wouldn’t just stay in the airport or if there was something that was really drawing me there.

I do have a friend that lives there so I, I may, you know, hang out with her or something like that, but I wouldn’t plan a trip to go back to Singapore.

Yeah, because it’s so small.

I I agree with you, Brittany.

41:14

Like I feel like we saw all the major highlights.

So because it’s small, if you go again, it’s going to be repetitive until they build something new and crazy that they don’t have yet, which is a very real possibility.

But I think if you’ve already been there, agreed, no need to go back.

41:32

However, Singapore is a major airport hub, so if you’re there and want to make a layover it sure.

I agree.

I feel like we’d go right back outside.

But to go out of your way to just specifically go to Singapore if you’ve been, I concur.

And if you look at things to do in Singapore, one of the things is to visit the airport, because the airport is really cool and like futuristic and there’s an amazing waterfall that comes down in the center and there are different gardens and exhibits to.

41:57

I really want to go to the Singapore airport.

I’ve seen people post videos of their long layovers where they’re lounging by the pool.

It’s like a pool party beach club type thing in the airport.

Nothing sounds cooler than that on a layover.

And that is really one of the highlights.

42:13

So you know what I would say lots of times you can’t count yourself having been to a place unless you’ve been out of the airport.

But Singapore is one of those places where I would say you can have the asterisk on that one.

You’ve been to Singapore if you’ve explored the airport and done those cool stuff because that’s an activity in and of itself.

42:31

Squatty’s you chimed in on a few different destinations that didn’t make our list, but we agree with you.

So Christy had also said she would return to Italy.

Greta, second that we love Italy.

What’s not to love?

I mean, some of the best food, great people, wine, I love it.

42:48

I loved Italy as well.

Italy again, Brittany and I really have only been to two places.

That’s going to be Venice and Rome.

We did take a day trip to Pompeii, which was really cool.

But Italy is a country where you have to go back multiple times because there’s so much to see and you need to spend a good amount of time in each of those locations.

43:08

Actually I have returned.

I went on a trip to Rome, Venice, Florence and Chicuiterre and then I just recently took a trip to Positano and had a little bit of time in Rome as well.

I want to go back and spend time in Tuscany and see the amazing castles and wine taste through that region.

43:25

That’ll be nice.

Yeah, See, I concur with Greg and Christy.

These are returned locations.

And I want to go to Sicily while I’m there too.

I think that would be a great place to move.

So we had Sarah chime in and she mentioned that she would not go back to the Dominican Republic.

43:42

Brittany and I have not been, but you have been Kim I.

Have been.

Yeah.

So Sarah had said that it wasn’t the prettiest and I guess compared to other Caribbean islands, maybe.

So she said it was very sketchy too.

So when I went, it was a stop on a cruise.

We did one of the excursions that took us down amazing natural water slides through this beautiful Canyon with gorgeous blue water.

44:04

And then we went into this little monkey area where these teeny tiny monkeys were jumping all over us and I had the best time.

Would that bring me back to the Dominican?

I don’t know.

Maybe if I got a good deal on like an all inclusive resort I would entertain the idea of it, but it’s not super high on my list.

44:19

Yeah, You know, and I say this, and I know this is an ignorant point of view simply because I have not been right, But when I think of the Dominican Republic, I feel like I could be content crossing it off the country if I stop on a cruise.

And that’s really my only desire to go there is on a cruise, do my shore excursion activity, see it and go.

44:40

Now, if I hear more people tell me Dominican Republic is great outside of all inclusives, because I feel like that’s all I really hear is how great the all inclusives are.

But I don’t want to go sit somewhere for a week.

Oh no no, like 3 to 5 days at an all inclusive would be perfect.

44:56

Otherwise you just you can’t eat and drink much more.

That’s true.

So Dominican Republic for me on a cruise I feel like.

I think the same for me, the cruise are all inclusive, but I don’t have a huge draw to go there right now.

But our squatty Erica chimed in next and she mentioned Michigan as a would return to.

45:16

We haven’t spent much time in Michigan and.

I would return to Michigan.

I’ve heard great things about Michigan, right?

We had a very brief time when we were there.

Yeah, I don’t even know if we should count.

If it counts.

We had lunch in Michigan.

We drove through on our way to get to Indiana Dunes State Park.

45:33

But if I were to return to Michigan, and I will return to Michigan, I want to explore the Upper Peninsula and go in summer and fall and just there’s a lot of like great places on the water up there.

I always forget.

Is it Voyagers or Isle Royale that’s in Michigan for the National Park?

45:50

I always get those two confused.

It’s split between Michigan and Minnesota, 2M states in that same region, so I always forget.

But a good reason to go up is also to go to the National Park.

Charlie and Liam had very strong opinions about Delhi, they said.

Never again.

46:06

So we haven’t been to India, but we do want to go to the Golden Triangle through the Taj Mahal.

The Taj Mahal, I really want to see it.

And we also want to go on a tiger safari, but it was kind of high on our list to make India happen.

We almost did go on a trip once a couple years back but we had some disagreements about the length of the trip.

46:24

Adding on that Tiger Safari made it like 2 weeks long and I was like no no no.

I know, I know.

And my dad and Stephanie just returned from a trip to India and Nepal and they went on a very luxurious trip and they stayed at some of the most luxurious hotel they’ve ever stayed at.

46:43

They said they’ve never stayed at nicer hotels before and they went with a luxury Tour Company, but they only rated their trip a 5 out of 10.

Well, your dad’s a pretty harsh critic.

That he is.

But Stephanie, she’s not as harsh.

And she had the same sentiment.

She’s like, I’m glad I saw the Taj Mahal.

47:00

I’m glad we saw the tigers and they wanted to go and they did go to Nepal and they saw Mount Everest, you know, just on a flyby, right?

So she’s like, I had my three things, Taj Mahal tigers and Mount Everest County Mount Everest because it’s not in India, OK, But she was like, that was it, You know, I got that.

47:16

But All in all, didn’t really enjoy the experience otherwise.

I.

Heard a lot of people get sick in India too.

Luckily they did not get sick and they said all of the Indian food they ate was fantastic.

OK.

Well, that’s good.

Yeah, so there there’s a pro on that.

47:32

But yeah, I feel like hearing this from Charlie and Liam and my dad and Stephanie, we pushed India a little bit farther down our list of must do’s right now.

Well, I’m ready to go on Tiger Safari before they’re not there.

I agree.

I shouldn’t say it’s not a captivating draw, because it is, but I agree there’s no strong pull in this moment to make it within the next two years or something like that.

47:53

Planning out?

Well, you probably already have your travel for the next two years already planned out, so of course it wouldn’t fit in.

We have ideas, but you know what?

Our ideas sometimes get bounced and changed.

As you know, it’s happened.

We’ve all done it so, you know, could happen.

Sarah submitted another one.

She said the Pacific Northwest of the United States she would absolutely return to, and I could not agree more.

48:14

I love the Pacific Northwest with its greenery, has most beautiful scenery up there.

There’s a few things that I have on my list that I would like to return to, and I’ve returned already to Oregon and the Pacific Northwest.

I want to do an Oregon Coast trip.

My friend Che lives up in Oregon and she lives not too far from a place I just sent her.

48:33

So maybe sometime in the next year, I’ll make it up for that.

Also up there in July, they have the lavender blooms.

I want to see that.

And then I would also like to do the same waterfall road trip that you 2 did that we have an itinerary on.

Yeah, I completely agree.

48:49

The Pacific Northwest has so much to do and so much to see and it encompasses 3 different states.

And I’ve been back several times like you mentioned, I’ve done the waterfall road trip with Jamal.

We have gone as a squad and done all of the Washington National Parks and we’ve done some of the Oregon Coast.

49:09

I don’t know what city you were talking about, Kim, but we have gone to like Brookings and some of the other areas along the Oregon Coast.

Oh, and I really want to go to the Willamette Valley wine region up in Washington.

Oh yes, we talked about that and we’ve seen not the lavender in bloom, but we’ve been to like the Mount Hood area.

49:25

The farm was there.

We were like a couple weeks away from bloom actually, so we didn’t get to to see it at that time.

But is that wine region that you’re talking about, the one place in Washington, Brittany, that you always tell me you I want to go, that’s done up for Christmas?

No, that wine region’s in Oregon and I want to go to Leavenworth, WA for Christmas.

49:44

For Christmas.

Yes, Oh my gosh, that’s that’s a Hallmark movie.

It looks like it.

Like really, it’s a real town that looks like a fake Hallmark movie, but in a good way.

But you need to go there during Christmas to see it all done up.

But there are so many other places I want to see.

I have a whole list of places I want to see in the Pacific Northwest.

50:02

I want to go to the San Juan Islands.

I also want to see more of the waterfall that are in Washington, and I want to go and hike the enchantments while I’m up there as well.

Squatty Erica chimed in and she mentioned Cabo and she said that she would not return but she did say she stayed at a resort that had a beach but unfortunately they couldn’t swim because there was a current.

50:24

Now we’ve been to Cabo.

I agree that if we had that experience it would be very upsetting because a lot of the actual resorts are far away from the city.

So if you’re staying there at an all inclusive, sometimes it’s really cumbersome to catch a cab or have a rental car get to the main areas where there’s a lot more lively stuff going on, different beaches that you could swim at to avoid wherever the riptide or current is.

50:47

But I would disagree because I love Cabo, right?

I like, I feel like if we went to Cabo, I would not stay at an all inclusive, although I think it could be fun, right?

But I really enjoyed just staying at a hotel.

Yeah, but OK, take that back.

You’re right.

51:02

I wouldn’t stay at an all inclusive that’s far away.

I would stay at one that’s close to town.

A lot of people get into this mistake with Cabo because it’s actually a very large area and a lot of where they have the hotels at the resorts is more of an area where there are not beaches and a lot of people get disappointed in this way.

51:21

There are some resorts that do have beach access and you can swim at it.

And then there’s the harbor area where the yachts are and the boats and Mango deck and that’s more of the city area.

Also there’s beaches, but you’re there’s better beaches.

So do your research if you’re going to go to Cabo so you don’t get disappointed like Erica did.

51:40

Yeah.

And I’ve been to Cabo twice and I’ve had two different experiences.

Once we stayed kind of near the harbor and we were in the city.

We had the city experience.

We went to Mango Deck like you just mentioned, Kim.

We explored all of the town.

We took the boats out to see the arch and good on a beach out there on an island.

52:00

But the water out there does have a strong current so it’s not a swimmable beach.

But I also stayed at The Four Seasons in Cabo at Costa Palmas and they did have a swimmable beach.

They did have a sign up and every day they would put what the current was so it would tell you if it’s safe to swim or not.

52:17

And while we were there, it was safe to swim, but it wasn’t close to City Cabo and it was very isolated.

So you’re kind of stuck at the resort in that way.

But I would go back overall.

Erica also mentioned that she would return to the Florida Gulf Coast and I haven’t done a lot on the Gulf Coast side other than flying in and out of Pensacola once before and wasn’t very impressed.

52:43

But I would like to see Destin and Sarasota on that side of Florida for the first time ever.

I’ve heard so much good stuff about it.

I would love to go.

Erica always is posting pictures from her trips in the Florida Gulf Post and the water does look amazing.

52:58

White sand beaches, perfect turquoise Clearwater.

It does look amazing and I am drawn to go there, right?

Around the Destin area too, there’s a place called Rosemary Beach that looks like a dream just like you’re describing, and the most beautiful, big colorful houses.

53:14

Yeah, Erica loved this so much that she actually bought a house and rented out on Airbnb and Verbo, and she goes back there a lot.

Hey, maybe, maybe we have to rent her house out and go on little Florida coal vacation.

Right.

Sounds so much fun.

So squatty.

53:29

Reagan mentioned that Jamaica is a place that she would not return to, and she mentioned the reason why she wouldn’t return is because of the pushy sellers there.

Sounds a lot like Egypt.

That’ll do it some.

Things I know that can always be a major hindrance and detractor to enjoying your vacation and location where you’re at.

53:50

But I’m going to say that this is a list here for me and have not been to Jamaica, but I’m going to equate it to what I said with Dominican Republic only on a cruise.

I have no desire to be like, oh, I’m going to be on the island, spend a couple days, no need for that.

So even though I haven’t been there, Reagan, I concur with your sentiment.

54:09

I went to Jamaica.

I went to a resort there.

I had an amazing time.

I would go back for that resort.

But as far as exploring the whole country of Jamaica, I don’t feel a huge draw for it either.

The only time that I have been to Jamaica was on a cruise and I was probably like 12-13 years old and I will say I got my best tan I’ve ever gotten while I was out in Jamaica.

54:31

Oh, that’s right, I remember that tan.

But while I was there and I was in the water, I also got stung by a jellyfish, so my experience there wasn’t the most pleasant.

So I don’t know.

I would go back on a cruise and give it another try as an adult, but I don’t have a huge draw to go there.

54:49

Fun fact, it is one of the only countries Jamal and I have not been 2 together.

Now, I think Ashley submitted an input that we could all concur with.

And if we go back to what I was saying about Maui, will know we’re talking about Kauai here.

Loved Kauai, would definitely return, could spend a lot of time there.

55:06

We spent a week there and Cam, when we told you were going to spend a week in Kauai, you’re just like a week in Kauai.

Let’s island hop.

And then we didn’t even have enough time to do everything we wanted to do in Kauai.

And it wasn’t even redundant.

We loved it, right?

I mean, Kauai is amazing.

I would go back.

55:21

Yeah, I think Kauai has a lot to offer.

They have Waimea Canyon, the Nepali coast, waterfalls, snorkeling.

In fact, I would go back because the Nepali coast hike we were not able to do due to some landslides.

That is a reason I would go back because that was gorgeous when we finally got to see it in the helicopter and the sunset boat tour.

55:40

So good.

Ready to go back?

So a whole country was submitted by Franny Pawnee Holidays and she submitted the country and continent of Australia and she put the reason why she would not return to you is because it’s too far and just a one and done for her.

55:56

I get that it’s too far, but Australia is so big how could you possibly say 1 and done?

It is kind of like the size of the US to some degree.

If you really spread East Coast to West Coast, it is very large.

So that I will concur.

But I will say this, earlier on in this episode when we were saying that and said we got some squatty feedback, Brittany wants to go to a place, you know, blah, blah, blah.

56:18

And somebody chimed in saying that they don’t really feel like it’s a great spot.

That’s how I feel about Australia.

I need to go there because it’s a continent and it’s a country.

We will go there.

It’s just not high on my list.

But I can’t tell you how many times Brittany’s thrown out the idea of Australia.

I’m just like and in the other day, we were over at her dad’s house with him and Stephanie having dinner.

56:39

And Stephanie mentioned some friends mentioned the same thing about how Australia is not really a place that they really liked.

And she’s worried because that’s their next trip and they just got off of India and India was a 5 out of 10 for them.

So they were like, are two trips back-to-back just going to be and they were talking about Australia.

56:57

So I’ve heard lots of people say this.

Australia’s just.

I feel like because it is so far, you almost have to go Australia, then New Zealand, then Bali because they’re all right next to each other or Fiji’s right there too, right?

It’s like make it worth the long travel.

Yeah, you got to do it in that way.

57:13

But if you do it with the long travel, then you can’t go coast to coast Australia.

You probably got to stay on East Coast, go to Sydney.

Maybe spend a month or two out there.

Oh.

That’d be a long.

One that would be a long trip, but I would love to go to Australia.

I want to go to see the Outback, I would love to see a kangaroo in the wild and a koala and I want to see Arrows Rock and Sydney.

57:32

So there’s a lot that I do want to do, but every time I bring it up to Jamal, he always says no, not right now.

So it’s in our five year plan, but just not our immediate plans.

You know what it is?

I say it’s because it’s a country that’s white, that speaks English, and I feel like I have it here in America.

57:50

But the irony is we’re going to get to a squatty input where I’m going to completely reverse.

That, and even though it’s English, they’re still hard to understand.

That’s very true.

That’s very true.

All right, Jen submitted.

London.

She said.

I would go back, I could go to London again and again.

58:07

And this is where I say take back what I said about Australia because been to London twice, loved it.

I would go back.

The only thing I don’t like about London is how the dollar to the British crown really screws you.

But other than that, what’s not to love about London?

You have the history, you have the elegance, you have the architecture.

58:24

Like British food.

Sorry British, you know your cuisine’s not.

Good but bangers and mash is so good.

No, no, of course.

Mushy peas.

Yeah, I don’t give me wrong, they have a couple of things, but what?

London Roast.

What London is really known for now is all the influx of foreigners, their types of food, and they have like an elevated food cuisine, but I’m talking like traditional Old English.

58:46

Like their food is just yeah but love London.

I only went there on a stopover once, so I was only there for like 12 hours and I did go around and I saw the outside of a lot of these beautiful buildings in the London Eye and Big Ben.

It didn’t make me want to go back immediately.

59:02

If I do go back or I will go back, when I go back to England, I want to go down to the coast.

My Co worker always raves about this trip she took down to the England coast.

The Dinosaur coast is what it’s called and it sounds really amazing so I would do that.

I really want to see Stone and then maybe do a little bit more in London.

59:21

An afternoon tea with a three tiered tray with a three.

Tiered tray for you tip.

Tray You know, London is a place that I could go back to, but I’m not dying to go back.

We’ve been twice, and the first time we spent four days there.

The second time we spent two days there on the way back from Portugal.

59:38

And it’s one of those places where if we were flying through London and using it as a stopover, I would probably add a day or two almost every time because I feel like you can get a different experience in London all of the time.

But it’s not a place that I’m like, dying to go back to right away.

59:54

And then our final input that we had was from Reagan.

She gave us another one and she gave us a wood return and that was to Norway.

And we have not been to Norway, any one of us 3.

But I know all of us want to go to Scandinavia and it is high on our eventual list just because of the nature up there and they’re just the untamed beauty that they have.

1:00:15

Yeah, they have beautiful lakes, glaciers, fjords.

In the summer it’s so lush and green.

There’s so much to see and do in Norway.

I specifically want to go to the Loffeton area, which is like an area of different islands in the northern part of Norway and it just looks absolutely beautiful and amazing.

1:00:34

It’s on my list too.

Maybe in the next couple years I’ll make my way over there.

I will say that I loved all the input that we got from our squaddies on this one.

A green and disagreeing and I know some of our lists were controversial, whether it be the not go to or go to again again.

So let us know squatty’s what you really think about what we said and if something inspired you here and you want to call us out on it, call us out on it.

1:00:57

If you want to agree on it, agree on it.

I always think it’s always fun to see what people feel about different places when you travel.
