Cabo Four Seasons Review – Episode Transcript

0:35

Hey squaddies! Travel Squad podcast is back with Just the Tip. Today you have me, Brittany, as your host and I’m giving you my honest review of my three night stay at The Four Seasons Los Cabos Costa Palmas in Cabo, Mexico.

1:00

So I stayed at The Four Seasons Los Cabos Costa Palmas for three nights and I’m going to cover every single thing, including our room, the restaurants, the beach, the spas, the amenities, and I’m going to talk about everything that I loved, but also I’m going to tell you what needs improvement here as well.

1:17

So the reason I went on this trip is because my sister was a top producer for her company and she qualified for this company wide trip event celebration.

And so I do have to give a shout out to my sister, her name we call her tonight and she is the most hard working, generous, kind hearted person that I know.

1:37

And she earned and definitely deserve this trip.

She’s a branch manager in the Dallas Fort Worth area for a mortgage company.

So to qualify, you have to close on a certain number of units or produce a certain amount of volume.

And so she qualified.

This is her branches first year that they could qualify and for her to make it is absolutely amazing.

1:57

So I was super excited for her.

So she had texted me a few weeks before the trip saying that she was a top producer.

We all congratulated her and then she said that they were sending her on a trip.

However, she really didn’t have anyone to go with.

You know it’s during the week so a lot of people can’t get off of work.

2:12

My nephew’s father was going to be out of town for work and my nephew was going to be in school and she would have taken my mom but my mom needed to stay to help watch her 8 year old my nephew.

And so she had texted my niece, her daughter and I who her daughter is a school teacher and midweek couldn’t take off her school.

2:32

And she had texted her daughter and I and said that she was really sad that she was going to have to go to this producers event by herself and no one was going to be there to see her receive her award.

And I had her text me the dates and it was like, oh, you know what?

That actually happens to work out great.

2:48

So I asked her, do you want company?

I can make it to Cabo.

And she was so excited, probably not as excited as I was, but she was excited.

So that’s what happens when you get to invite yourself for a little trip.

So for this trip event, they paid for three nights at the resort and that included a daily breakfast buffet and dinners.

3:11

The only meal that they did not include was lunch, but if you were to stay here independently, no food would be included at all.

Her company also included transportation to and from the hotel, plus one excursion on our free day.

So if you do go here and experience it independently, your experience is going to be a little bit different than mine.

3:30

But of course the amenities are still the same.

Same because my sister was a top producer, she also got $1000 gift card to help offset travel costs.

So we did have to pay for the flights, but we were going to use the $1000 gift card on property for hotel and we also wanted to have a spa day as well.

3:46

So I did pay for my flights for my flight to Cabo a used points and for my flight home.

I actually was able to use some of my $200 American Express airline credit since I had the American Express Platinum card that I just got last year.

And so because of the new new year, the credit refresh, so I was able to use $200 to that.

4:06

So out of pocket I would say I probably spent $60.00 on flights.

The trip was Monday through Thursday so flew in on a Monday.

My sister and I landed in the one O clock almost 2O clock hour and we landed within 15 minutes of each other.

4:23

She came from Dallas and we actually met at the same luggage carousel.

Our luggage was coming out on the same 1.

So it worked out perfectly.

After we collected our luggage, we pulled $100 worth of pesos from an ATM and then her company had arranged for a black SUV pickup.

4:41

So if you are staying here yourself, you would either need to book your own transportation or have The Four Seasons arrange your transport to and from Cabo International Airport.

And that can be pretty pricey, especially because where this resort is, it’s quite far from like the downtown area of Cabo San Lucas.

4:59

And it would take probably like an hour and a half, two hours to get there.

So this is like on the complete opposite side.

So it’s a more remote area.

It’s very isolated.

It’s more desert landscape.

And the closest town that’s next to it only has about 1000 people.

And there’s not much really going on there.

5:15

It took about an hour to get there.

The roads are kind of windy.

So if you prone to motion sickness at all, like this could be a little problematic.

But we got there, it was nice and spacious, the SUV and we checked in, our bags were taken to our room, which was fantastic for us because we were really hungry.

5:33

The lobby is beautiful.

It’s a opened air lobby, so it’s like partially enclosed.

If it was raining, you wouldn’t get rained on, but it’s open air as well.

So if it’s windy, you could probably feel that wind breeze.

And in that area it looks out to the ocean.

So super beautiful lobby.

5:49

You go down these stairs.

We got picked up by a golf cart and we asked what are our lunch options and he recommended a place called El Puesto on property which is a sushi bar.

He takes us to the sushi bar.

The location was gorgeous.

It’s a beachfront bar.

6:05

You’re like right next to the sand you can see the ocean.

We ended up getting 2 sushi rolls.

One of them was a king crab roll and one was a shrimp tempura roll.

With fees and tips it came to about sixty U.S. dollars and the food was decent but it was nothing special.

6:24

So after that, we’re like, OK, let’s go find our room because we haven’t even seen our room at this point.

We had our luggage delivered there.

So we walk in, our luggage is there.

It’s perfect.

And we had an amazing room.

It was a double bedroom with an ocean view.

The ocean view was small, like there were other rooms that had better ocean views that were closer, but we were happy with our ocean view.

6:46

We also had a pool view and the room was really spacious.

We had the 2 double beds, we had a couch, we had a table that sat too.

And then from this area you can look out of the lighting glass door.

It’s floor to ceiling window doors that opens up to a huge balcony that has a four seat table and it also has a couch and recliner that you can lounge out onto.

7:08

The balcony overlooked the pool, the restaurant, the ocean.

And then back inside there was the bathroom to the left down the hall and the the bathroom had a huge shower and a nice soak bathtub, 2 sinks.

There was already 2 ropes hanging for us when we got in so that was great.

7:27

And then there’s a small hallway that has like 3 small closet doors and then it has this full body mirror and there’s like 3 mirrors that kind of like surround you so you can see yourself at all angles.

And then there’s another vanity area where you can sit and do your makeup.

7:43

And then there is the toilet room, which just has the toilet and the scene.

Also in our in our room, we had a little bar area.

They did have like a full bar in our room.

And then they had an espresso machine where they stocked with coffees.

And then it had a few complimentary snacks like some pretzels, some tamarind candies.

8:02

And then they had like minibar snacks as well.

I will say the service here at The Four Seasons was fantastic.

They do do room service twice a day.

They do one in the morning and then they do a second one as it turned down service for the evening.

8:17

And then every every single day we had like a little snack or surprise.

I honestly don’t know if that was like a Four Seasons thing or the companies thing, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it was a Four Seasons thing.

The first day we got these chocolate tacos that had like a moose and some berries.

8:33

And the second day we ended up getting complimentary chips and salsa.

And then to start in the room, there was already 3 beers in the room, bottled water, some mixed nuts, and like I mentioned, the espresso machine, cups and some snacks.

So curiosity got the best of me and I looked up the room the day that we got there and it was priced for $16130 per night.

8:58

So our three night stay that we got for free clocked in at just under $5000.

I personally probably wouldn’t ever spend that much money on a hotel out of pocket.

But you know there are people that love luxury and if you can make it work, the property is gorgeous.

9:16

Some rooms did have better ocean views.

They did have suites like one bedroom suites, 2 bedroom suites.

They also had villas that you could rent out as well.

I saw those can go anywhere from like 3000 to 15,000 a night.

So crazy price spread on this hotel.

9:32

We were on the second level and we were kind of on a hill, so we didn’t even feel like we’re on the second level, but there was a room below us and all of the rooms that were on the ground floor had personal plunge pools in front of them.

So that’s kind of cool, especially if the weather’s really nice and you want your own private pool.

9:50

There was also a tablet in the room that you could order room service from.

And you can look at like the daily activities that the resort offered.

They offered things like yoga, wine tasting, tequila and mezcal tasting, fitness classes.

Some of them were complimentary, some of them had an charge and some of them you had to sign up for in advance and it was like space dependent.

10:10

We were here for the company event, so we actually didn’t have any additional time to check any of that out.

But if you are staying here as a guest, then that is an option for you.

So the resort as a whole, I want to get into the resort has 13 different dining options or drink options, so either bars or restaurants.

10:28

They had 13 different things on site.

They had the spa, it was called the Oasis Spa, has 10 rooms and has an amazing facility that all guests can use and then if you want to add on a service you can as well.

They do have a kid center, a teen center.

10:44

They have 7 swimming pools.

There was at least one that was an adults only pool.

They have two miles of swimmable beach and there’s a sign that says like what the current is like and if it’s safe to swim out there each day so you know if it’s a good day to swim or not.

They also had a Marina and a water taxi service that took you to its own little island with a bar, day club and dining.

11:05

Unfortunately, we didn’t get to experience that, but if you had more time and you were here on your own, again, this is something that’s available to you.

They have an 18 hole golf course.

They have a sports and activity center.

They have this amazing gym a lot pools, tennis courts and a basketball court.

11:24

So overall I really think that the room and the property and the service was amazing.

I just don’t know if I personally would pay that price tag, but I am so grateful I got to experience it for free.

So after we had checked out our room, we got ready for the Baja Beach Welcome BBQ.

11:43

This is put on by my sister’s company.

So it was a beautiful, beautiful set up on the beach.

It was right around like almost sunset hour and and they had a place for us to check in our shoes.

It was like a toes in the sand dining.

They had beautiful tables set up with centerpieces.

12:00

They had food stations on both sides.

I would think like this would make a really good setup for like a wedding or a big group event.

And the food stations had side dishes like oysters and clams and salad soups.

They had BBQ meats, mashed potatoes, grilled vegetables and they also had a S’more station.

12:19

Also, we could see from where we were dining whales that were off in the distance in the ocean and that was just so fabulous.

At sunset was amazing.

However, the downfall though was the food itself.

The food itself was quite lackluster.

12:37

All of the meat was overcooked, dried, and I get it, it’s hard cooking for large masses.

So if you were here for company event or like a milestone event or a wedding or family reunion, that could potentially be pretty disappointing.

And the S’more station that they had, I wouldn’t even classify it as a S’more station.

12:56

And it was not good.

They didn’t actually have Graham crackers.

They used cookies and it made it way too sweet and it was not great.

And because of the sea air, the cookies were like a little stale or soggy.

So after dinner, my sister and I went back to the room and we ordered room service and we got churros that came with like a chocolate sauce, a caramel sauce.

13:19

And then we also ordered a bowl of ice cream.

So that’s how we ended our night.

It was perfect.

The next day was a Tuesday and Tuesday.

We started the day by having breakfast at Milos.

And Milos is an oceanfront breakfast buffet.

13:36

Breakfast was by far our favorite meal.

They had this huge amazing breakfast buffet with indoor and outside seatings with ocean views.

They had this huge pastry station with everything you could want.

Croissant, cinnamon rolls, bagels, breads, pancakes, waffles.

13:52

They had eggs, bacon, sausage, they had beria, tamales, chilkiles, they had fresh fruit and juices.

They had like chia seed puddings, yogurt, parfaits, they had Mexican hot chocolate and Cafe de Oya.

And you could even actually request a box to go or a cup to take things to go.

14:11

We did take a few extra pastries with us one of the days to go back and enjoy in our room.

It was great though, huge selection.

All of the food was great.

Breakfast was our favorite, but it costs $90.00 a person, so that’s a little bit of a caveat if you’re paying out of pocket.

14:27

After breakfast, my sister had a general session for about 3 hours and while she did that, that gave me some alone time.

So I went and I toured the spa.

We had an appointment later that day that I booked and I wanted to gauge how much time we needed to spend at the spa before our appointment.

14:46

And so I toured the spa.

Then I went and checked out the gym, the lap pool, the tennis courts, the kids area.

And then we had pulled money from the airport, but it had given us all big bills.

So then I went to the concierge to ask if they could help break some of my larger bills into smaller bills and they could.

15:02

So that was really nice.

And then I walked the beachfront.

I just took a little stroll up and down the beach, putting my feet in the water, just enjoying getting sand between my toes.

And I saw from the property that they had paddle board, so you could take a paddle board out if you want to.

15:17

There was there was also two person kayaks that were available for you to take out and it also looked like there was a snorkeling gear station where you could probably get some masks and fins and swim if you wanted to.

But the beach is really nice, pristine and obviously gorgeous views.

15:34

And so after I walked the beachfront, I went back on property and then I laid out by one of the pools.

They brought up some water for me to have and they brought out a menu in case I wanted to order anything for lunch.

I just sat and read my book and just dip my toes in the water a little bit while that was here and just relaxed until my sister was done with her session and then she met me down because we made lunch reservations at the restaurant that is directly in front of the pool.

16:04

So we went and had lunch there.

The restaurant is called Casa de Process and it’s a poolside restaurant.

We ordered three things.

We ordered agua Chile lobster tacos and stuffed zucchini blossom tacos.

And we also ordered just a Coke to drink.

16:20

We were so so excited to try the lobster tacos and initially when they brought them out, there was so much meat in them, it looked so good.

But when we actually took a bite, it was actually quite overcooked and chewy and you wouldn’t actually be able to discern that it was lobster.

16:37

I also learned that I’m not a fan of agua chili, I would much rather prefer ceviche, so that’s just my personal preference.

And the stuffed zucchini bought some.

Tacos were just OK, nothing special about them, but they were edible.

And that lunch came to about $150.00 with service charges, tips and fees.

16:57

So this was just like one of those moments where it was like, I don’t think the restaurants here are worth the money that they’re charging.

And honestly, you would need about $100 per meal per person at a minimum per day just to stay here.

17:12

And you’re at The Four Seasons in a very secluded spot.

So they have a captive audience.

And so the dollar really doesn’t go far here, but you know, you’re in a luxury space.

And again, we don’t know if the food quality was happening because we were here for the retreat or if this is just kind of their everyday.

17:33

So don’t know about that.

If I ever come back here, I’ll let you know.

Comparison.

And then we were supposed to be doing beach games with the company.

We could see them setting some up while we were having lunch, but the service at the restaurant was also taking quite a bit of time.

And so we got a text saying that they postponed the beach games for another hour.

17:53

And we decided then we couldn’t go because we had booked ourselves a massage treatment and we wanted to get to the spa before the massage and enjoy the services there.

So we decided to forgo the beach games.

The Oasis Spa was absolutely amazing and I wanted to spend some time here before our massage.

18:11

So when I had done the tour, they told me to get there at least an hour before the massage so we can enjoy the facilities.

And the facilities and amenities are open to resort guests at no additional charge.

So that’s really nice.

So we got there about an hour early.

If you really want to enjoy every single thing that they have, I would say probably an hour and a half is more sufficient.

18:32

But we started by putting our stuff in the lockers.

The area is separated by gender, so there’s a woman’s area and then a men’s area.

So if you’re thinking that you’re going to go to the spa with your significant other, that’s not going to happen.

You’re going to be separated, which was fine with us because it was just the two of us.

18:50

And when we were in there, there was almost no one else at the spa at all.

Every time we went into like a sauna or a steam room, we got that alone.

People would follow like behind us, but we were in different areas and so we never had anyone like in the same location as us at the same time.

19:08

So when I had originally done the tour, they had recommended that we start in the sauna.

So we went ahead and did that.

We spent 15 minutes in the sauna and then we did a cold plunge and then after the cold plunge they recommended that we go into the steam room for 5 minutes.

After 5 minutes we came out and put this amazing smelling body scrub all over our bodies and then we went back into the steam room for another 10 minutes.

19:30

And then inside the steam room, actually there is a shower.

So we showered all of the body scrub off of us and then it was piping hot in there by that point.

So after that we did a cold plunge together, my sister and I.

My sister cannot do cold plunges.

19:45

I have to like force her to do them, but she made it, we did it.

And then after that we went into the the hot tub.

The hot tub actually has these cement seated chairs with jets in them, which was really nice.

Or you can just stand in the hot tub.

It looks like a pool, but the water is heated.

20:03

And then there is another area there where it’s just regular swimming water and there are like layable chairs.

So you can lay in the water but have your head poking out and just kind of relax.

So by the time we were done with our circuit, we were ready for our massage.

20:19

So they took us to the tree.

Rooms, they have 10 treatment rooms on property.

We both got deep tissue massages and they were great.

I do love that each one’s like in an individual kind of cottage looking thing and so they can adjust the temperature to your liking.

20:36

The massage table was heated so they can turn on and off the heat or adjust it and then the massage bed itself was adjustable.

So towards the end when I was laying on my back he was able to position it so that in a more comfortable position than just flat.

20:53

The massage was great.

We really enjoyed our spa services and obviously the massages are add on services.

They also have facials and body treatments and other things.

They have a full spa menu that you can choose from.

So if you want to just go and enjoy the spa facilities itself, you can, or you can also add something on.

21:11

And we really enjoyed everything about this.

The whole experience was fantastic.

But the price online showed that the massages were about 330, five U.S. dollars a person.

And I would never spend that much money on a single massage.

21:28

But we had the credit that my sister had gotten from her company and obviously we knew that there was going to be gratuities and all of that.

But with the service charges and the that this came to over $400.00 a person for the massage.

21:43

And I just think that is quite wild for just a 60 minute deep tissue massage.

Yes, it’s at a Four Seasons resort.

Yes, it was very nice.

Yes, I enjoyed the spa, but it is quite a bit of a markup I feel.

So after the spa, we went back to the room to get ready.

21:59

Her company was hosting karaoke night.

They had sunset photos and they had a professional photographer.

And let me tell you, the photos were amazing.

So good.

It was a gorgeous setting, gorgeous backdrop.

And then they had an outdoor dining setting.

22:16

Again, the ambiance was fantastic.

It was it was quite a vibe.

They had places where you could take your picture.

They had a stage set up for the karaoke.

They had a full bar again and they had the double area again for the food.

22:31

And the food theme tonight was of tacos.

So they did have a build your own Taco station.

They had fish tacos, pepper tacos, pork and chicken molay.

The fish was really good.

The pork was pretty good as well and the black beans that they had were delicious.

22:48

They also had salad, so I tried a napala salad.

They had guacamole, a lote of course, like chips for the dip, and then they had a churro station for dessert.

They had cinnamon and chocolate churros.

I just preferred the regular cinnamon, but they had the caramel sauce, the chocolate sauce.

23:07

They had whipped cream.

They had like little chocolate beads that you could sprinkle on top as well.

Girls were on point for sure.

They also had a full bar there, so I ended up getting a spicy pineapple Margarita and it was delicious and the night was going so well.

23:24

People had signed up in advance or people would sign each other up to sing songs.

It was quite entertaining.

There was a lot of really good songs that went on.

People were singing, dancing, having a great time, the drinks were flowing.

It was really fun.

We were about to leave actually, and one of the gals my sister knows knew my sister just recently went to a Backstreet Boys concert.

23:46

She went to the Backstreet Boys concert in Vegas at the Sphere.

She had the time of her life there.

So she signed my sister up to sing I Want It That Way by the Backstreet Boys.

And so I am thinking, Oh my God, I cannot be her backup singer or dancer.

24:03

I will just be her videographer and photographer.

So she recruited one of the people that we met at the event to be her backup singer and he did a fantastic job.

So I got that on video.

It was a fantastic night.

And then we went to bed after that.

24:19

And so this brings us to Wednesday and this is our last full day at the resort.

We started again with breakfast at Milo’s.

We again had an ocean view dining experience at the buffet.

Everything at breakfast is so amazing.

I think my favorite thing, hands down was the chocolate almond croissant.

24:38

I’ve never had a better one in my entire life.

With the second being a mixture of the Cafe de Oya and the Mexican hot chocolate together.

It was so spicy and creamy and chocolatey and so good.

It’s such a good coffee mixture.

24:54

And then the beer area was also another favorite of mine as well.

So breakfast all around was always super good, but we were kind of in a rush to get through breakfast because this is the day that we had in a free day, the entire day and the company paid for an excursion.

25:09

These excursions we were able to choose from and the hotel can help you arrange.

So if you are going here as your own guest, you are able to book these excursions if you’d like with their assistance.

A few weeks ago my sister had sent me a list of all of the excursions that we had available to us to choose from.

25:27

They had a waterfall hike and off road adventure and off road waterfall zip lining.

They have a Cabo pull, most snorkel, A snorkeling cruise, watching sport fishing, spearfishing, and my sister’s not a hiker and she also gets motion sickness like I do so I knew she wouldn’t want to do anything like off roading or hiking.

25:48

That’s totally not her jam.

So she said she was interested in snorkeling.

So we ended up picking the snorkeling tour in Cabo Pomo National Park and it is the only full-fledged Coraline reef in the Gulf of California and it’s home to one of the only three coral reefs in western North America.

26:06

It’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Marine site and it has one of the highest biologically diverse presences.

So we read the description, we’re like, that’s it, we’re going to go do that.

We show up at our meeting spot and it ends up being just us and one other couple, Anita and Jerome, who were part of the retreat of, of course.

26:24

Turns out Jerome and my sister have some mutual contacts and they actually don’t live super far from each other.

So that was kind of cool.

Got to chat with them.

Took us about an hour to get there to our snorkeling docking site.

And we had a driver, believe his name was Ernesto.

And then Orlando was also one of the guides.

26:43

And then he introduced us to our instructor, Diana, and she was kind of in charge of the whole thing.

So we met her, she hooked us up with wet suits.

She got us fins and masks, a life jacket, and then we walked over and got loaded onto the boat.

Once we were in the water we immediately saw a humpback whale and so they brought the boat closer to it and it was actually a Mama and her baby.

27:07

It was so cool to see.

And we got to follow them from a distance for just a little bit of time.

And then they were like, OK, let’s, you know, move along with the snorkeling tour.

So we did pass another whale along the way, but we went by a sea lion colony and we got to admire them up close.

27:23

They were explaining to us that these sea lions were actually like the rejected sea lions that didn’t get to mate this past season and that they were here on this rock to like, get better and stronger so they could find a mate next season.

So we got to see them, hear them, smell them, all those things.

27:39

And then they took us to a snorkeling spot and we all jumped into the water at the same time to help balance the boat.

So there’s three of us jumping off of one side, 2 of us on another side, and she’ll count down like 1-2, three.

We all got in.

Thankfully we had the wet suits.

It was about 62° in the water and once we dipped our heads in, immediately we saw fish.

28:00

We saw so many tropical fish.

We saw dories and nemo’s and angelfish and I saw a Blackfish with white stripes and I saw like a yellowfish that had black polka dots and like some white patches as well.

28:16

We saw this beautiful, huge blue, gorgeous parrotfish, looked like it had a little baby beneath it too.

We saw schools of fishes.

This was like definitely a highlight of this tour.

And so after we got to see everything underwater, we went back onto the boat and they were going to take us to swim next to a school of skipjack tuna and we spotted them.

28:40

We could see them because a lot of them do hang out kind of towards the surface of the water.

So you can spot them because you’ll see like a discoloration in the water that’s different than everything else around it.

And we’re getting really close to them.

But then we see that there’s dolphins.

So they’re like, OK, we’ll wait on the fish.

28:57

Let’s go check out these dolphins.

And we got closer to the dolphins.

Dolphins are very playful creatures, so they love to play like in the wakes of the boat.

So we went kind of in a circle kind of fast actually.

It was really, really fun.

And we made a whole bunch of waves for these dolphins and they’re just jumping in and out and they’re playing and they’re having a great time.

29:17

And we even see a dolphin like breach out of the water and jump back in.

It was so cool.

It was such an amazing highlight of the day as well.

And after playing with the dolphins for a little bit, they take us back to the skipjack tuna site.

We once again jump off 123 into the water and we swim just a little bit and I’m looking down in the water and it’s kind of deeper than where we were previously.

29:42

And I see a fish or two, but I’m just like, what’s going on?

Like there’s not much that I see here.

And we go just a little bit further and our guy Diana points and there is a huge school of fish to our left, thousands and thousands of huge skipjack tunas just a little right in front of us.

30:00

So we got to be really close with them and see them up close for little bit of time and then she took us back to the boat.

I really, really enjoyed this tour.

It was probably the highlight of our time here in Cabo for this trip.

30:16

And everything just went so seamlessly.

It was perfect.

The tour guides are great.

They were super nice.

They had everything that we needed.

He had towels waiting for us, he had snacks and waters and everything.

And so we make it back to the docking area and we had a choice if we wanted to have lunch on the beach or not.

30:37

And he recommended a Taco shop.

It was called tacos and beer.

How convenient.

Looked out onto the water, had ocean views.

And he said that they had really good octopus tacos and that he recommended that we have lunch there if we wanted to.

So it was just the four of us.

We went and grabbed lunch.

We ended up getting three tacos each.

30:54

I got 1 bulba, which is the octopus, 1 fish Taco, and one shrimp Taco.

Everyone got three tacos plus a drink of sorts.

My sister and I split a Michelala and a Coke and then I know Anita and Jerome got some drinks as well.

31:10

In total for everything like 12 tacos and four different drinks was only like 60 bucks.

It was great and it was probably the best food that we had this trip.

So we got to enjoy lunch with the ocean view and then after that we had the hour drive back to the hotel.

31:26

Tonight we were having a Desert Disco Awards reception and ceremony and dinner, but it was later in the evening that it was going to around 6 O clock.

We probably got in around 1:45 too.

So we had some free time.

My sister said she was going to try to work a little bit, take a nap.

31:44

I ended up going back to the spa and I did the circuit again.

And then after I did the Circuit of the sauna, steam room, cold plunges, hot tub, swimming pool, I just relaxed on a day bed and I read for a little bit of time and I was there for probably about an hour and a half hour and 45 minutes.

32:02

And it was the perfect amount of time to have there.

After I got back, we ended up getting ready for the disco.

So we end up going to the desert disco probably about like 2530 minutes late.

This was supposed to just be kind of like a cocktail hour.

32:17

They had a full bar here, so we got a spicy Margarita.

When we walked in, they did have like little bites, just, you know, little tuna bites and things to try.

And then they did have these dancing silver cats.

Like people were dressed up in these silver metallic cat costumes and they were like discoed out and they were just like dancing and posing and hanging out with a crowd.

32:42

It was pretty fun.

They were quite the highlight to hang out with.

So we kind of just hung out there, mingled with some people and then we were led by the disco cats to the dinner and ceremony.

They had a three course meal for us.

It was the best meal that we had on property.

32:59

They started with a Mexican chopped salad that was topped with some tuna.

They had a dual entree which was a roasted filet mignon with molay sauce.

It did kind of taste like BBQ sauce though.

And they also had a miso Glee snapper with a cauliflower puree.

33:14

The snapper was so good I would go back and eat that again because that was how good it was.

The fish was not overcooked.

It was nice and juicy.

The meso glaze was great, and then for sides they had the roasted carrots and green beans.

And then for dessert we ended up with a Black Forest cake.

33:32

As we were kind of ending dinner, they displayed all of the award recipients on a screen and they showed everyone with how many units they closed and how much money that equated to in volume.

So we got to clap and cheer for all the people that were there and all of the friends that we made while we were there and the people my sister knew and colleagues that she had or other connections she had while she was there.

33:52

So everyone’s displayed up on the screen.

You’re congratulating everyone.

And then the top ten got to go up on stage and after the award ceremony, they had an after party with the dance floor and all of that.

And then my sister and I ended up calling it a night and going home.

34:09

So our last day was Thursday.

My sister had a flight around noon and my flight was around 2:00.

So we had our last breakfast at Melo’s.

We loaded up on all of our favorite things and then unfortunately we had to say goodbye.

34:25

So we took the shuttle back to the airport.

Takes about an hour.

So we took a shuttle this time rather than the black SUV, and this is just because that’s what they had set up for us and what a different experience it was.

The Black XUV was like luxurious.

34:41

He had water.

We could have even grabbed a beer from him and didn’t feel like squashed or anything.

It was like very luxurious.

The shuttle, there was 11 of us in it.

The seats weren’t all working properly.

So my seat, even though I wasn’t trying to recline, was reclining and it was reclining quite far back.

35:01

There was someone sitting behind me and I didn’t want to be rude, so I’m trying to sit up, but every time we go over a bump, like I’m going back and it’s a windy road and it’s cramped and it’s not comfortable and we’re all trying to not get motion sickness on this ride back to the airport.

So we had that experience, quite a bumpy ride back.

35:19

And then we made it to the Cabo International Airport and that concluded our trip.

So squatty is to recap it all.

We spent three days at The Four Seasons Resort called Los Cabos Costa Palmas in Cabo, Mexico.

We had a fantastic time.

35:34

The property was amazing, the amenity were great, just the restaurants quite lacked and the pricing just wasn’t on point for our price point.

But that’s the benefit of having a comp trip.

We had such a great time and I’m so excited that I get to share this experience with you guys and just give you an honest review.

35:54

Because as much as I want to say and when you stay at like a five star resort, you want to say everything is perfect, not everything is and that’s OK.

We can all be real about that.

I forgot to mention on the last night after the award awards ceremony, they did announce where they’re going next year and next year they’re staying at The Four Seasons in Costa Rica.

36:13

And I’m already prepping my sister that I’m going to be her plus one and that she’s just going to need to make it happen for us next year.

So hopefully I’ll get to report back to you guys on that.

And with that, thank you so much for tuning in to just the tip.

keep the adventures going
