Things to Do in Dallas – Episode Transcript
0:35
And get ready to embark on a new adventure with us around the globe.
Hello fellow travelers.
Hey.
Squaddies.
Welcome to this week’s episode of the Travel Squad Podcast.
Today we’re taking you all the way up to Dallas, TX.
0:50
Dallas is a city that we visit every single year and there’s so much to do there.
It’s such a big city, so every time we go we try to do something new.
But for as many times as as we visited, I feel like we’ve just scratched the surface and there’s still so much to do in the city.
Austin and Dallas are just a three hour drive apart.
1:08
I go to Dallas when I work events all the time and I have a few friends that live in Dallas.
So in the four years that I’ve been in Austin so far, I’ve got to explore a little bit of Dallas and I’m starting to really like the city.
When I first went, I was like, oh, I’m not so sure.
I don’t know where to go.
1:24
I don’t know what’s going on, but the more I’ve got to know it one, Dallas has an amazing airport system.
So many flights from Austin have a quick layover in Dallas, and I always think, like, man, if I only lived in Dallas, airport would be amazing.
But outside of the airport, there’s so much shopping to do in Dallas.
1:41
They have amazing spas, really great restaurants, and it’s huge.
There are so many different pockets of the Dallas metro area.
Yeah.
And Brittany, you said we go every year, but maybe Squatty’s do know this.
And if they don’t, I’m just going to go ahead and say it.
We go every year because your sister lives in Dallas or more particularly the urban sprawl that is Dallas.
2:02
So Dallas is very large.
It’s a fast growing metro area centered around business, entertainment and of course urban living with neighborhoods ranging from upscale and walkable like Uptown to artsy and eclectic like Bishop Arts and Deep Ellum areas.
2:19
And of course, like I said, it’s surrounded by an expanse of suburbs, especially to the north, known for the newer homes, strong schools and family friendly living with places like Plano and Frisco offering polished, corporate driven communities and places like McKinney and Richardson.
2:36
And they have a little bit more charm, diversity or value, depending on what you’re looking for.
So I know we’re kind of like talking about Dallas living, right.
But when we go, like I had mentioned, a lot of times we’re visiting your sister.
We’re in these suburbs and small communities, but we always try to do something in Dallas.
2:53
And there’s just so much.
And I don’t think people realize this unless you’ve been to like one of the major cities in Texas, whether it be Dallas, San Antonio, Houston, Austin and your case game.
So much surrounds it and it’s such a big expanse and Dallas is one of those places.
So there’s always lots to do here.
3:10
Tips for visiting Dallas?
It is in Texas, so check the weather forecast and then of course if you’re visiting, make sure to pack accordingly.
I would recommend packing things for sudden rain and for heat, especially in the spring and summer times.
But in the winter, you’d be surprised.
3:27
Dallas can get very, very cold.
It can get snowy and icy in Dallas and it happens pretty consistently every year.
So don’t think just because it’s Texas that it’s always going to be hot.
Yeah, I actually find the best times to visit.
We almost always visit in April, which is a really good time to go because it’s springtime there.
3:45
The weather’s really nice.
It’s cool in the morning and the evenings, but it’s really nice midday.
I was actually there in March this year, and there was a little heat wave in March and it went up into the 90s while I was there.
So Dallas has a little bit of unpredictable weather and like you said to Kim, there are winter storms.
4:04
There’s been a number of times my sister has texted me saying that she’s hiding out in the closet for storm warnings and it’s iced over.
There was one point where her St. everyone was on like golf carts skidding around because it was iced over and there was snow.
4:20
The kids were having a snow day.
So you never know what you’re going to get weather wise while you’re visiting Dallas.
And we say that so you can be prepared and packed, not to discourage you from going because of course Dallas is fun.
And when you’re there transportation wise, like we alluded to earlier, it is very spread out.
4:37
So renting a car is quite honestly the easiest way to get around.
I feel like that’s the truth for any American city.
But Dallas, of course, you’re not just really going to stay to the downtown area where there would be like metros or trolleys and things like that to take.
So you do want and need a car.
4:52
Dallas is a big metro city so it has a ton of options for accommodation.
They have some really nice hotels in Dallas that can add to your trip there.
And what’s great in these episodes, Squatty’s we’re always trying to tell you ways that you can kind of hack the system.
One of those ways of course is travel credit cards.
5:10
And so if you have one like the MX Platinum or the Chase Sapphire Reserve, they have certain credits for hotels within their network.
You are sure to find some of those hotels in Dallas.
I actually recently was looking for some hotels in Dallas in June.
5:25
I was going to be doing some work up there looking on the Chase, the Edit Collection and the Fairmont was on there and it was not unreasonably priced.
It was actually like 300, maybe 350 a night.
I thought for the Fairmont that was a very good deal and then the credit on top of it.
5:42
Oh, I feel like that is a really good deal.
And if you haven’t used your Chase Sapphire Reserve travel credit, the $300 they give you, you can stock those credits together and have a real savings.
And while I was in Dallas, our honorary squaddies, Cash and Ryan, they just live in Oklahoma, so they come down to Dallas quite often.
5:59
Cash’s birthday weekend was that weekend, so they did a staycation in the Dallas area and use their Chase edit credit while they were there.
Staycation action be like that.
Yeah.
So definitely Dallas is a good city to utilize those credits if you have either or both of those credit cards for their hotel collection and get those discounts.
6:18
But keeping with that theme, Dallas also has so many good dining options as well.
And again, if you have any of the travel credit cards, whether it be the Chase Sapphire Reserve, American Express Platinum, or even the American Express Gold, they do have dining credits.
6:35
Chase’s has $150.00 semi annually that you’re able to use through open tables, exclusive tables when you make reservations through there.
And then of course, Amex uses Rezi.
The Gold gives you a $50 credit at Rezi restaurants every six months.
6:51
Or if you have the American Express Platinum, you get 100 quarterly at those Rezi restaurants to use.
So again, if you’re really travel hacking, Dallas has so many good food spots and lots of restaurants that participate with both of these credit cards as well.
So travel hack it while you’re there.
And we’re not trying to promote these credit cards or these programs necessarily Squatty’s.
7:11
We’re just sharing this because not all cities have restaurants available through these programs, but Dallas does and they have a lot of good ones.
We’re going to talk about restaurants and I’m excited about that.
There’s one I really want to recommend that I do believe is part of these programs.
7:26
Yeah, and I, to your point, Kim, again, I’m really happy that you harped on the fact that we’re not like, oh, just really advocating for the credit cards because some cities don’t have them.
Our friends, Garrett, Melissa, they’ve gone on with us on several trips.
When we went to Portugal and to Oktoberfest, they have the Sapphire Reserve.
7:43
They can’t even use the dining credits where we’re from in Sacramento area because they don’t have any restaurants.
They would have to go to San Francisco or utilize what they’re travelling.
So if you have these cards and you can’t utilize these perks and benefits in your hometown or surrounding area when you travel, that’s obviously the best place to really utilize them.
8:01
Squatty is Before we let me get into some things to see and do in Dallas, I do want to remind you of one more way to save money.
If you’re planning to visit Dallas, you’re going to need a flight.
It has a great airport.
Like I said, you can find a great flight deal into Dallas by using a service like Thrifty Traveler Premium.
8:18
It’s essentially a flight sale notification system.
You can set your airport to Dallas or your home airport going to Dallas, be alerted of deals when they come up so that you can get an even better deal on your trip here.
They also have hotel deals, so so if you want to stack a hotel deal that perhaps could be a part of one of these programs so you get a credit for even more savings, just go to thriftytraveler.com/premium and use our promo code TSP.
8:45
That will get you $20 off of your first year subscription to that service.
So we’ve talked about there’s a lot to do and see in Dallas and whenever Jamal and I go into Dallas, like you said, we visit my sister and so she has an 8 year old.
9:00
So we typically do a guys day and the boys do something and then we do a girls day and all the girls do something fun in Dallas.
So one of the times that I visited the girls had a girls day at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden.
I’ve actually only been once, but I will say it’s probably one of the most beautiful places that I’ve visited in Dallas.
9:20
It’s a 66 acre garden and it sits right along the edge of the White Rock Lake and it has a ton of walking path themed gardens.
There’s a beautiful rosebush gardens when roses are in season, water fountains, ponds, sculptures, little waterfalls, koi ponds.
9:36
And there is actually mansion on the grounds, which was actually a family’s home and they owned 44 of these acres.
And when the owner died, they family donated the estate to the Southern Methodist University.
And then the city of Dallas later acquired the property and it became the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden in the late 1970s.
9:56
You can actually do a tour of that mansion there.
We did it while we were visiting the Botanical Garden and they have a ton of restaurants on site.
We had lunch while we were out there, but you can even do high tea in the historic tea room and there’s so many events on their calendar as well.
10:13
You could take classes like floral arrangements, you could do painting classes of flowers.
They have food and wine festivals, concerts, and the Dallas Bloom Floral Fest there too.
So you can literally spend half a day a full day here just exploring, roaming people, do photo shoots.
10:30
It’s very lively.
You have a ton of room to spread out and I would recommend you know when.
You came back from the botanical gardens, Brittany, when we were in Dallas.
I remember you talking about this very highly and saying you really enjoyed it.
And a lot of times when we travel, we do go to botanical gardens, not necessarily to go out of our way to do them, but if it’s one of the highlights and we have free time, we’ll definitely do it.
10:50
And a lot of them are hit or miss.
But this one here is a real highlight.
And I remember you really like hyping it up, saying like this is really cool.
And I love the fact that it has events to do.
I mean, the food and wine festival just in a garden sounds exciting to me.
I know, I know.
I know that sounds kind of like cheesy as a guy to say, but like I like those type of vibes, you know, and you get them when you are here and Brittany was really hyping it up when she was done with it.
11:15
So I would encourage this place for sure another.
Outdoor option that Dallas has is the Katy Trail.
It’s a about three to five mile trail that is very popular in Dallas.
It was considered an urban running trail through the heart of the city.
11:32
Parts of it are paid for biking, there’s softer surfaces made for running.
It’s very, very well kept, very nice.
So at any point in time, morning, noon or night, you will see plenty of people walking their dogs, pushing strollers, just going for walks.
11:48
What’s also really cool about it is there are restaurants with outdoor patio seating that kind of dot parts of the trail.
So it makes it really easy to stop off.
There’s like usually a lot of TV’s outside in these patios and sports on, so it’s like a good stop off, get a beer, get a bite to eat, keep going on the trail.
12:06
Very community vibes, but also it’s something that locals and tourists alike enjoy.
I mean this.
Is essentially a Greenbelt, but just really on steroids in a good way, you know, just with the length that has all the activities that you can do.
And I do really appreciate a good Greenbelt throughout a city that’s well maintained and actually is lively.
12:26
And Katy Trail definitely is that this.
Was one of the first things that I did in Dallas.
Actually, I was doing a job up there and one of the girls I work with was from Dallas.
I asked her what should I do, where should I go get something to eat and she recommended go to the Katy Trail, go to one of these restaurants.
12:42
I had some of the best empanadas ever sat on one of those patios.
People watched, which is just a cool thing, like relaxing thing to do on a nice afternoon one.
Of my favorite things to do in Dallas that we’ve done was actually go to the 6th floor museum at Daily Plaza.
12:58
Now if you are a history lover or nerd or if that rings a bell to you, this is really the NOW Museum of the assassination of President JFK because he was assassinated November 22nd, 1963 here in Dallas, TX.
13:16
So this is located in the former Texas School Book Depository and the museum actually tells the story of John F Kennedy, his life, presidency and the tragic event of his assassination.
But you can see lots of exhibits, including photographs, artifacts, and detailed timelines that help visitors understand not just the assassination, but also the cultural and political climate of the time.
13:41
And then of course, something really unique, morbid definitely, but definitely unique, is you can see the X markings on the street and they still mark where he was actually shot.
So you’re literally in a spot where history was made.
And what I really appreciated about the museum just as well is it tells the official story, but it also leaves room for you to also acknowledge that maybe the official story really isn’t the real story because they don’t tell it like it’s fat.
14:09
They tell it like this is what’s happened.
But then they also let you put in your own thoughts, so to speak, by telling you like, but a lot of this stuff sometimes doesn’t make sense or this or that.
And I really appreciated that aspect of it.
But you are in a spot where history was made.
14:25
And really the fate of the United States maybe even changed at that point in time too.
And a lot of.
People’s lives.
I’m watching the love story right now and ripple effect of that one moment?
Absolutely.
So I recommend this.
This was one of my favorite things that we’ve ever done in Dallas is going here and we’re.
14:40
Not really museum people, but like Jamal said, what I really did like about it was they don’t just tell you that this is fact.
They give you the facts and they give you the timelines.
But they also do question things like did that line up?
Were the shots supposedly fired where they said that they were and then just how they found things and the details.
15:00
And I know a lot of his assassination information still hasn’t been released.
And so it’s great for conspiracy theorists and history lovers here.
Jamal is a conspiracy theorist loves.
A good conspiracy, I just feel.
Like the world is proving conspiracy theorists to be true all the time, every day now.
15:17
So you know, but nevertheless, cool spot to go to here in Dallas.
Another.
Quick spot you can stop by when you’re in Dallas is the I Burritum.
Have you 2 ever seen it?
No, we.
Actually haven’t.
No pun.
Intended, but the I Burritum is a giant eyeball in the heart of downtown.
15:33
It’s in this little grassy area.
If you weren’t looking as you’re walking down the street, you might actually miss it.
I mean you would notice it eventually, but it’s kind of a little bit hidden.
But it’s a really cool stop you can pop in.
It’s an iconic photo op.
It was created by an American artist named Tony Tassette.
15:52
It’s a 30 foot tall fiberglass resin and steel sculpture of an eyeball.
It’s actually a replica of Tassett’s own eye.
Just pretty cool to see.
Get your picture by it and then move on to the the next thing downtown.
The next time I’m in Dallas I want to go to check it out.
That seems really cool.
16:07
It reminds.
Me of that Big Blue bear in Denver, Yeah.
I can see that you get into.
The Convention Center, just this one random piece of artwork that’s well known for the city.
Yeah, I know.
Kim, you’ve been to Dallas quite a few times for work and you go actually to Dallas more often than we do.
16:23
So what would you say are some good neighborhoods to explore while you’re in the Dallas area?
So one neighborhood.
That I spent some time in.
Once again I was there for a job and I needed to spend overnight.
My company had always booked the hotel so I just showed up.
16:38
Happened to be in Las Colinas and Los Colinas is a 12,000 acre master planned urban hub and entertainment district.
There’s a lot of new development out in Dallas and so when they build these new residential areas, there’s not a lot around them.
So this is something that they built as they’re kind of, you know, developing the urban sprawl of the Dallas metro area.
16:59
And it’s just this kind of like hub that’s there.
It’s beautiful.
It’s got 56 lakes on it, jogging trails, parks, museums, the colleges in this area, and then of course, lots of entertainment, bars and restaurants here.
When I stayed here, I stayed at the Marriott Dallas.
17:15
Los Colinas has an amazing lobby bar on site, amazing outdoor seating and I happened to meet 2 girls at the bar who lived in another part of Dallas like an hour away and they were just doing a little girls kind of staycation there.
At the Marriott.
We hit it off at the hotel bar.
17:32
We went across the street to some of these bars and restaurants that are part of this Plaza.
I think there’s also a movie theater and we had a great little time.
It’s just like a a great little safe entertainment area.
I.
Like how a lot of cities are doing these cities within cities and I feel like that’s what Los Colinas is really its own entertainment district and place that you could and stay and do everything really in one spot.
17:56
But a lot of other cool notable neighborhoods in Dallas to explore is Deep Ellum.
And that’s a historic district famous for its live music venues, eclectic St. murals and acclaimed BBQ spots like Pecan Lodge.
So Kim, I know you said you’re excited to talk about food later.
18:13
Pecan Lodge is known to be one of the better places in Dallas to get BBQ or at least really highly rated up there.
So Pecan Lodge is in the but Deep Ellum, if you just Google cool neighborhoods Dallas, this is really going to be on there.
And then the Bishop Arts district as well.
18:30
It’s a charming area in North Oak Cliff filled with over 60 independent boutiques, restaurants and art galleries.
So it has that type of vibe to it.
So lots of good places to roam around those 3, Deep Ellum, Bishop Arts and Los Colinas the other.
18:45
Thing about Dallas that may be attracting visitors is the sports.
They have an NBA team, The Mavericks, They they have a hockey team, the Stars, they have a football team, the Cowboys.
Huge fanfare around all of those teams.
19:01
A Dallas Cowboys game is so energetic.
It’s almost like a whole city of just Cowboys fans.
I worked an event at a Cowboys game and it blew me away.
And I know a lot of people are coming to Dallas to go to Cowboys games.
19:16
It’s an iconic stadium, an iconic team and an iconic cheerleading squad.
So that’s definitely drawing people in.
Actually one of my Co workers is coming to Dallas on lots of people do this, a national tour to visit every baseball park in the country and they have a great baseball field here.
19:35
I was going to.
Say you mentioned all the major sports teams or sports except for baseball, but of course they do have the Texas Rangers there who are located in Dallas Fort Worth area.
But what I really like to beyond the professional sports, yes, if you are sports lover, great city kind of go anytime of year and at least one of those sports will be in season and you can catch a game if you wanted to.
19:59
But I have not done this yet.
I know you have Kim, but.
They also have a AAA team in Frisco called the Rough Riders, and I love going to AAA ball games for whatever reason.
They’re fun, a little bit more intimate.
20:14
But what’s really cool about this, especially because of that Dallas heat as well, is in the Rough Rider ballpark in the outfield.
They have a lazy river and a pool where you could just hang out and watch the game in center field in the outfield.
20:30
And I want to go do that.
And I know you did it, but Brittanys sister lives very close to Frisco and it’s one of those things that we have yet to do.
It’s so amazing, one of these years when you end up coming in April instead of March, you have to see if you can get out there for it.
20:47
When I went last year, they have special nights.
I’m not sure if the pool’s open every night, but I know they were doing these specials on Thursdays and Sundays where the ticket that you bought for that area, you have to buy the special pool area ticket.
You got into this promo and they were selling Twisted Teas for $2.00 and it was just a Twisted Tea pool party at the baseball field while the game was going on and it was really fun.
21:11
That sounds like.
Such a fun time, just enjoying baseball, drinking some twisted tea, relaxing in the pool, but a.
Unique experience unlike anything else.
I mean, tell me some other baseball or sport sports event where you could just hang out in a pool and watch the game.
And so it has it here and I think that’s really unique and fun.
21:28
So I’ve.
Also been to a Dallas Stars hockey game out here and it was a great time.
The community really supports the Stars and all of the pro teams, and so that energy is really live.
And then there’s a lot of great places to eat and drink around the Dallas Stars.
21:44
So before and after the game you’ll get a ton of just camaraderie and sports.
And when I went, I had made so many friends just being out after the game.
So really good vibes, good community out there.
Another thing that Dallas has that’s great are the spas.
22:01
And Kim has been really into spas this past year, I would say.
I mean who?
Is it Spas are just next level amazing and.
I’ve convinced my mom and sister to go to some spas out here in Dallas, and one that we went to was called the World Springs.
22:16
Kim, I know you’ve been too, but so.
Great, It’s a.
Really unique.
Well this experience near Dallas, it’s this massive outdoor spa and it features mineral pools that are inspired by famous Hot Springs from around the world.
So if you look at a map, you can see like the Blue Lagoon, the Dead Sea, you could see places inspired by like Japan, Mexico, Korea, and you just have all of these different outdoor thermal pools that you can get into.
22:47
And then there’s also saunas that you can get into and cold pools.
So you can do like a whole circuit while you’re here.
Spend a few hours here.
It’s really relaxing.
Each pool will tell you the different temperature, the mineral compositions in it, and it’s just a great way to enjoy the spa.
23:04
I love it.
They say they’re one in Austin.
They had estimated 2026 opening.
We’ll see as the year goes on if that happens, but Dallas definitely has a one up on Austin when it comes to spas.
World Springs is great too.
They have really good food and really good frozens on the menu here as well.
23:22
Another cool spa in Dallas that we’ve reviewed on the podcast is Spa Castle.
So if you go back to the April 2025 episode or actually for any of our spa episodes in general, you can go to our website, travelsquadpodcast.com.
Episodes.
Type in anything you’re looking for and you’ll find all of these episodes.
23:41
But I want to mention Spa Castle because it’s not your average spa.
It is a massive 3 story 140,000 square foot urban resort spa.
It has Asian saunas, luxurious European spa experiences, indoor, outdoor, gender specific gender neutral, hydrotherapy, tranquil resting areas, and different spa treatments like those Korean scrubs.
24:08
So good.
This place is amazing.
I would highly recommend it and if you’re going to come, plan to spend at least six hours.
I really wanted to go here and I had my mom and sister on board for going here.
And then when I was here in March, I looked it up and they’re actually temporarily closed for renovations.
24:26
So I know that they’re going to make it better, probably bigger and.
Better, yeah.
So you’re going to have to revisit Kim once they reopen after the renovations are done, I think.
That’s great because you’ll hear in the review some of the things weren’t top of the line and like the hydrotherapy jets, there was one or two that maybe didn’t work when you push the button.
24:47
Definitely didn’t detract from my experience.
It was still blew me away.
But I can’t wait to see what they’re doing with these renovations.
Yeah.
So I’m excited to check it out once it reopens.
All right, let’s.
Talk about Jamal’s favorite topic, where to eat in Dallas.
Yes.
25:02
So we’re going to mention a couple places.
As we said, there are a ton of great places, but what do you think of Texas and maybe Dallas in particular?
But just Texas, we think of BBQ.
I did mention it earlier when we’re talking about Deep LM, and that is Pecan Lodge.
25:18
And no trip to Dallas would be complete without trying some of this Texas barbecue.
And it’s one of the most famous spots in the entire city.
It’s known for its perfectly smoked brisket, massive beef rib and house made sausages and lines could get long, but locals will tell you it’s absolutely worth the wait for some of the best barbecue in Texas.
25:41
So this is a very notable spot that is a must try we’ve.
Gone.
I do really like it.
It is my mom’s favorite BBQ spot in Texas.
She raves about it all the time.
But me personally, and I know this is a chain, but I really like Terry Blacks.
25:57
But you can get that in a lot of different places.
So it’s not unique to Dallas Terry.
Blacks is good but also another really great BBQ spot is going to be Hutchins BBQ.
This.
Is what made me fall in love with Texas BBQ.
I feel like this is the first time I really had Texas barbecue in Texas.
26:15
They.
Had unlimited Peach cobbler.
I know going to fall in love with that.
Delicious Peach cobbler, mind you, too.
It’s not just like a soft serve.
Too.
Right.
It was, yes, the soft serve.
I mean, you got to put soft serve on top of the Peach Cobblers.
All you can eat after you order your BBQ.
26:31
What’s not to love?
Yeah.
We’ve been here a few different times.
We’ve always ordered like a family meal which includes like 3 lbs of meat, several different sides, and we always just really enjoy it.
They have really good brisket here.
They have good sausage, yes, really good sausage.
26:48
The sides are great too.
And like you already mentioned, the complimentary dessert bar, banana pudding, Peach cobbler, soft serve, it’s amazing I think.
People often times believe BBQ is expensive and they order whatever they want and then it ends up being like $40.00 for a person or 100 something for the family, whatever.
27:11
I want to recommend squatties, that you don’t let your eyes get bigger than your stomach.
Just order less.
It’s actually a lot more food.
When we’ve gone to Hutchins, I remember we did that family meal.
We had so many leftovers and there was like 7 of us, yeah.
27:28
There was seven of us.
Yeah, and we barely made a dent in those huge containers of the sides.
I know, but you?
Can’t go wrong with that price.
It was like 100 and something dollars so it was so cheap in comparison.
So I.
Could see it both ways.
You are right Kim eyes are bigger than stomach.
BBQ inherently isn’t cheap, but it can be cheaper if you really don’t go overboard right because lots of people can do that.
27:49
We are guilty of it but also it can be expensive.
But if you say to yourself, look, I’m going to have all this leftover, it’s going to get me like two or three meals, then it really depends, right?
So it’s all a matter.
Yeah, it’s all a matter of how you want to look at it.
28:04
But again, highlighting the BBQ spots here just because this is Texas, but no doubt there are other great spots to eat outside of BBQ.
But being Texas oriented, we have to highlight the BBQ spots.
I just want to recommend one place and that is Izzy’s.
28:22
This is a lunch spot in downtown Dallas.
It’s an amazing Italian deli, some of the best sandwiches you’ve ever seen, the most gorgeous salads that you can make yourself.
They also have a ton of prepared food already in the container waiting for you to choose it like pasta salads, bean salads, veggie salads, all the different meats inside everything.
28:46
I literally went crazy in here when I went in here and I really wish that this was my neighborhood Italian deli because the people who live in this area are so lucky it.
Sounds really good.
I love a good deli.
I love a good deli sandwich too.
A sandwich is always taste better when they’re not prepared by you.
29:02
Like when they’re homemade, they just don’t hit the same salads.
I was going to say it’s.
Exactly like salads.
And you know, I’m glad you’ve tried this, Kim, because it’s a spot that I want to try because of course we’ve heard of it before.
But when we go, we usually get barbecue and we’ll eat at other restaurants, of course, visiting family, so then eating at home.
29:18
But nevertheless, yeah, just Google Photos of Izzi’s and see what Kim is talking about.
It’s like a deli on steroids.
I would say it’s almost like the Costco of delis in a way, so to speak.
Like really almost like superstore warehouse style but with high quality stuff not.
29:34
Everything’s in bulk, you can get your own size, but there’s so much, yeah.
That’s what I meant by warehouse style, not necessarily the bulk aspect.
