QC NY Spa Review – Episode Transcript
0:35
And get ready to embark on a new adventure with us around the globe.
Hey squaddies, welcome to.
This weeks just the tip today you.
Have me Kim to take you to one of the most artistic, exploratory sensory spa experiences and that is the Spa of Wonders QC New York Spa.
0:54
What is the QC?
Spa, QC, New York.
Spa is a luxury.
Wellness retreat and Destination Spa on Governors Island in New York City.
It offers one of the most serene escapes from that urban hustle.
Just across the waterway.
It blends European inspired spa culture with NYC flair.
1:12
Featuring Heated.
Outdoor pools with.
Amazing New York City skyline views, themed saunas and steam rooms, relaxation lounges and so many different Wellness rituals.
When you come, you can enjoy over 20 spa experiences including hydrotherapy, Vichy showers, massages, food and.
1:30
Beverage, they have a really.
Great Italian Bistro there and it’s all accessible from a very short ferry ride from Manhattan.
I’m talking very short, just a couple minutes.
Q Speed Termi Group is an Italian luxury spa and Wellness chain, so I.
Had first heard of a QC.
Spa the QC Milan spa.
1:46
It’s been on my bucket list for so long.
I’ve been dying to go the lightning rainfall shower room, but all of them look amazing.
There’s several different QC spas in the group and when I was coming to New York and I was doing a little bit of.
SPA research I saw QC.
2:02
Spa and I thought.
I have to go.
I have.
To go an extra day to New York City just to spend the entire.
Day here.
So how do you get to?
QC Spa in New York very easily.
They have a ferry and the ferry price is included with.
Your spa ticket.
2:17
And you can get on the ferry from Battery Park in lower Manhattan or in Brooklyn and so.
I did the Battery Park.
Location in lower Manhattan.
It’s super easy.
To find there.
Was a lot of.
Tourism staff helping direct.
You to the right.
Ferry The ferry comes.
2:33
Every half hour.
On the hour to both sides and it only takes.
About 5 minutes to get across super.
Easily, so don’t let the fact that it’s on Governor’s Island steer you away from visiting.
It’s not difficult to get to at all and that was a worry.
That I had before.
Going the cost of QC New York spa depends on what?
2:50
Access you choose.
So I like.
That they give you.
Options, the shortest being just a.
Three hour visit.
They also have a 5 hour or a full.
Day and the price changes depending on when you come, whether it’s a weekend, weekday, busy season, slower season.
So you could really.
3:07
Make it more affordable if you want to, right?
The price for a full day visit.
In January when I went was 100.
And $58 it did see that the three.
Hour reservation was only $89.00 so you can pick your poison.
Maybe you don’t want to spend the entire day in New York City here.
3:22
You can just go for a few hours.
I will however recommend if it is your first time visiting, try to spend as much time as.
Possible here because it’s.
So big and there’s so much to experience that you really don’t want to.
Rush yourself through.
But if you’re a local.
Or you’ve been here.
Before or you just.
3:38
Simply don’t have that much time to spare I think.
If you could do.
Three hours.
It is 100% worth it.
The Spa of Wonders is meant to be.
Explored to.
Wind through the wedding rooms, the hallways, the maze that it is, the pools, the experiences, and really?
3:54
Do it at your leisure.
With relaxation and wonder.
I do have some.
Tips for visiting QC New York Spa.
First tip is to eat before you go they we do.
Have a restaurant on site and a cafe.
On site but.
I don’t think the food was amazing it.
4:11
Will hold you.
Over if you’re going to be there for the day.
And it was.
Good quality food, but pretty.
Pricey and the options are somewhat limited and if you’re going to be there.
For a full day.
You don’t want to feel hungry right when you get there.
Like I said, if it’s your first time, take your time.
When I went with Zana, we spent 8 hours there.
4:27
It could have easily.
Been a open to.
Close full day.
There we were, I think just shy, maybe 3 or 4 hours shy of being there the entire day, and it could have been a little.
Bit more leisurely, there was just a.
Couple things we didn’t do, but for the most.
4:43
Part We did everything.
For all spas and especially this one too, I do recommend coming either first thing in the morning or planning it so that you’re there until closing first thing in the morning and closing, you’re going to have less crowds morning, you’re going to have a little bit more than closing time.
5:00
So if you want.
To have a little bit less.
Crowds a little bit more of the.
Spaces to yourself.
Try to time it for that.
I love the feeling of closing time at the.
Spa because people really do leave.
Completely.
They’ll be rooms where I’m trying to enjoy it to myself or maybe get a video and I don’t want to get people in the video.
5:19
If I just.
Wait till the end.
I normally have no problem with that.
And then also when the sun goes down at the spa, it’s just a whole.
Different vibe, a whole.
Different layer of relaxation.
Then you can go home and go to.
Bed and you’re so relaxed and ready.
For it.
Another tip for QC, New York.
Spot is that cell.
5:34
Phones are not forbidden.
Obviously you can’t use your phone in treatment areas or in the locker rooms where there may be nudity, right?
You don’t want to accidentally film someone or make someone uncomfortable, so.
That is a rule.
But there is no rule that you cannot use your phone in this spa, which is a different experience than some other spas like Nordic spas that are completely silent.
5:57
I just want that to be known.
I did find it to be a little bit more of a social.
Place lots of people.
Scrolling on their phones, lots of people taking videos.
It’s an amazing, beautiful place and you may want a picture or a video there and there’s no shame in it.
And don’t let anyone shame you.
You’ll definitely want to bring a swimsuit and sunglasses.
6:15
They will provide you with.
Two towels and one robe.
Oh, in addition to the robe, some sandals.
The robe and the sandals.
Are required at all.
Times Now, not necessarily when you go into a sauna or steam room, but walking about the facility, everyone’s in a robe and the.
Sandals that they provide all right that is it for tips let’s.
6:32
Move into my day, Susanna and I.
Had a 12.
PM Reservation and we.
Chose that because we.
Had some things going on the night before, didn’t want to get.
Up super super early.
And rush over there.
We had to do one thing in the city before we went down there, so.
6:47
That just worked for us.
Like I said before, if you can, go there.
Earlier, I would recommend that almost everyone who’s getting off the ferry is coming to.
QC Spa so you’ll easily be.
Able to find it.
You will get checked.
In on the monitor, pay for your reservation if you haven’t already, then they will give you.
7:04
Your key to your.
Locker and in your.
Locker it has.
One robe, sandals, and two towels.
Even just the locker room as you get.
Escorted back there.
You will immediately.
Start to realize that this place.
Is a maze.
It’s binding, it’s weaving.
There’s messages on the.
7:19
Walls.
There’s artsy decor.
And it just.
Gets you so excited right away so we.
Changed as.
Quickly as we could.
And we walked down from the locker room to the pool.
Now Governors Island is a state.
Park you.
Cannot spend the night on Governors Island.
7:36
QC Spa had tried to get the.
Permit to be able to do that and the local government shut it down so no one’s actually spending the night here.
The buildings are historic.
There’s a lot of history here.
And QC Spa is in this really cool.
Huge.
Historic building that has. 2.
7:51
Separate wings or buildings to it so.
There’s a lot to explore.
There’s hardwood floors.
Wooden hand rails.
These beautiful staircases, it feels very historic.
And it’s a cool contrast.
To the artsy decor.
And experience that you are walking through.
8:09
Every room is artistic and looks a little different.
Every room has its own theme.
We’re talking about relaxation room, sauna, steam rooms, treatment rooms.
Everything has its own theme.
So as you’re walking through the building, you’re peeking into the different rooms, maybe walking into them and exploring them.
8:25
Maybe one has big cushions and a fireplace.
Maybe one has big comfy cozy chairs and music decor and music playing in it.
There is a red light.
Therapy room with.
Big beds, There’s facial care products.
In certain rooms that you add to the treatment there, there’s a rocking chair lounge room, there’s a welcome room with aromatherapy and a guestbook to sign.
8:47
There’s.
Truly.
As much as I remember and enjoyed it and took notes for you Squatty’s, I can’t even remember every single room because it almost felt like they were limitless and each one was so unique.
Which is why hey, if you want to catch a video I wouldn’t blame you.
It’s cool.
9:03
I want to remember it.
So we made our way.
Out to the outside.
Pools and when we went in January.
It was very cold so they did have these big tube.
Coverings over the hallways.
That led you out to the pool.
Which I thought was a nice touch.
I mean, it’s still going to be cold once you get out to the pool and it was windy when we.
9:20
Were there too.
But the tubes did help.
They also had clear igloos with fireplaces.
These big clear igloos.
In the middle of them, little fireplaces, chairs and tables.
So you could get one of those and have food and a drink.
There, just relax there saw a.
9:35
Lot of people just hanging out, so you’re still able to.
Be outside but.
You’re in a clear igloo and it’s warm, so at this point we’ve kind of already seen a lot of rooms and saunas and made our way out to the pool.
Zana wanted to get into the pool.
I wasn’t ready yet.
I wanted to go into the saunas and enjoy that little bit more.
9:52
And it was.
Very cold outside so.
We kind of thought we’d seen it and we were like, OK, now that we have a lay of the land, Xena, you go do the pool.
I’m going to go into the sauna and then we’ll meet back U.
Or so we thought.
Squatty’s I know that I mentioned the QC spot in New York and I mentioned the price tag of it.
10:09
Now, if you want to balance out the cost of doing something like this in a splurge, I would recommend trying to find a.
Good flight or hotel deal?
We love to talk about Thrifty.
Traveler Premium, it’s a subscription service that.
Alerts you of flight deals.
And hotel deals now, so sign up for.
10:25
That at Thrifty Traveler.
Dot com slash premium Use our promo code TSP get $20.
Off your first year.
Subscription and then hopefully that will pay for.
Your ticket here to QC Spa so.
I did go back in and I did start using some of the saunas.
10:41
Many of the saunas are wood saunas.
Most of them have windows too, where you can actually see the New York City skyline.
The.
Views the pools outside.
I could see Zenit in the pool.
I knew she was out there.
There was a really, really big sauna that was somewhat.
Circular shaped.
And it had these enclaves, these like wooden archway spaces.
10:59
So you can be private even in this large sauna.
It was really beautiful, Truly one of the most beautiful saunas I’ve ever been in.
They had more large wooden saunas.
This next one I went into.
Was a double layer.
Sauna so it had an area where you can sit on the bottom and then a big.
11:16
Area where you can.
Lay on the top and they had huge windows looking out to the New York City skyline.
I stayed in there for quite a while by myself.
Right outside of that sauna they also had.
Facial.
Scrubs in these individual.
Little cups that said.
Spend 5 minutes in the sauna, then come out, put the scrub on your face and then get.
11:32
The cold eucalyptus towel.
Out of the mini fridge right next to it and do that little.
Circuit.
So that was really fun right outside of.
That they had a red light therapy.
Bench.
Where you could sit.
And then it was facing this dresser with ATV on top.
The dresser area.
11:47
Also has skin care products and the TV was playing a.
Tutorial of what to.
Do with them all so you could use the moisturizer and the creams and enjoy the red light therapy on your back while you were sitting there.
So I’m bobbing around to all these different things.
Then there’s of course more relaxation rooms.
12:04
I loved the rooms that had these netted egg looking pod chairs that were hanging.
They had.
Pillows in there.
They were super relaxing, even if there was someone in there you wouldn’t really even be able to notice them because of.
The way the egg shaped.
Chairs make you feel so private, but when I was in there, I was by myself.
12:22
Nearly every one of these rooms too in these hallways have some type of.
Set up for.
Refreshments.
So could be coffee, hibiscus tea.
Apple cider flavored waters.
Some of them also had snacks, little individual fruits or nuts and crackers.
12:38
So just little things to keep you going.
So at this point for me, it had probably been, I don’t know, one to two hours and I started to think, man, I should really try to meet back up with Zena.
I don’t know how I’m going to find her because she didn’t have her phone with her and mine was on airplane mode.
12:53
Even though I bring my phone to get content, I always have it on airplane mode so that I’m not distracted by notifications and messages and things like that.
So I went back up to the locker room.
I thought, you know what, I’m going to reset, go to the bathroom, break, come down and really try to find Zeta.
So I did that.
13:09
And then as I was walking down, I go down one of these staircases and I’d never been in this area before.
So it was a whole other.
Wing of the place that we had not discovered yet.
So I just started.
Walking during it, lowering and this.
Is the aqueduct.
Room there’s massive.
13:27
Water wet area of.
The spa.
So many more experiences, so many more rooms to explore.
Now it.
Really starts to feel.
Like a maze and there is steam rooms and saunas and just a ton of different things and every steam room is different.
They had a steam room that was supposed to be like a starry night.
13:45
They had a steam room that was playing like bird chirping noises.
One that was.
Really, really dark.
Like, almost no light in there.
And so I’m just kind of exploring them.
And I’m sitting there and I’m thinking like, please let Zana walk in here.
I’m visualizing her just opening the sauna door and us seeing each other and laughing and saying, Oh my God.
14:05
So that didn’t happen and I’m starting to get a little worried and I’m like man, this place is so fun.
I really wish Zana was here to experience it with me and I normally.
Like to go?
To a sauna or steam room or any kind of a.
Spa I like.
Being there by myself, it’s nice to relax, think about things, focus on your Wellness and not worry about oh do you want to do this or someone else’s schedule.
14:27
Right, so I.
Continue to do as much as I can while still hoping Zana shows up and I go into this next.
Area of this aqueduct.
Sweat room and.
There’s these two walls of chairs.
Facing each other almost like when you get a.
14:42
Pedicure at.
The the nail salon and you put your feet into.
This bucket of.
Water and it gives you a foot massage.
So I’m doing a little foot massage and then I go into the hydro jet room, which it wasn’t my favorite room, I’ll tell.
You that it.
Kind of reminded me of a large jail cell.
14:58
You push a button and the.
Water jet starts.
Squirting you and it’s supposed to be a.
Massage, but it actually.
Felt like little knives hitting you.
I was like, OK, that one is for someone with a higher pain tolerance it would be better.
If it was larger sprays of water.
Hitting it was too thin, so it kind of hurt.
15:16
Anyway, I did that and then there were more body scrubs in these individual little cups, so kind of scrub my body.
And then I went into the Vichy shower.
I’ve never heard of a Vichy shower.
I’ve never seen a Vichy shower.
They’re essentially stone beds all lined up in this room.
15:33
And you push the button and a red light comes on and the rainfall shower hits your entire.
Body really, really cool.
I would love to have a veggie.
Shower in my house.
It was a great.
Experience.
And so I did that.
And when I came out of the Vichy shower, guess who’s sitting at the foot Massager Zana.
15:50
So we were reunited, we were both on the same page, like trying to find each other, a little bit worried and we were loving the space and just really happy to be seeing each other and getting back.
Together, so we’re.
Finish up enjoying some of these rooms.
One other thing down here in the wet.
16:06
Area that I loved.
We both.
Loved it was this waterfall room that they.
Had where it was two big walls of water.
I would say all together it was.
Probably 10 or 12.
Feet long of a big wall of water.
And it had these.
Blue lights.
16:22
And you could just stand under it and play with the.
Water it was.
Really, really cool.
They did have another waterfall room where it was like a lion statue of his head and the water was coming out of.
It that was really cold so.
Not as enjoyable, but the waterfall room was really fun.
Don’t skip that one if you come.
16:38
And then after the wet rooms we kept walking across.
So the wet room kind of connects you from the first building into the second building.
We didn’t even really.
Realize this but.
There’s an entire second building that we had not even gone into yet and I.
16:54
Started to laugh because.
When we first walked in and went down to the pool, we thought we’d seen it all.
We hadn’t even seen 1/4 of it and everything is just blowing us.
Away.
We’re loving it.
So we go up into this next room, climb up the staircase and get into it.
We see.
OK, there’s the cafe, there’s the buffet restaurant.
17:11
Beautiful.
Now we have that.
We’re not ready for lunch.
Yet but we.
Are still exploring it.
We’re going to come back.
And so we go into this.
Other area there’s a.
Himalayan salt room.
Huge Himalayan salt room.
But it’s not actually a sauna.
It’s not cold, it’s not hot, it’s just lukewarm air.
17:28
I would.
Have liked a little.
Bit warmer in there, it would have been really nice.
Especially after the.
Aqueduct wet rooms.
They had another sauna in there and right outside of that room they had showers with one huge.
Bucket up top where you could pull.
The handle and it would.
Pour ice cold water.
17:44
Onto you.
That’s really nice after being in the sauna.
They also had an.
Igloo room and I.
Like the igloo?
Rooms.
When you’re going from sauna to igloo, it’s really nice to give the hot and cold without having to be in a cold plunge and just to kind of cool off from all the warmth and all the saunas, the igloo room.
18:03
Too, They had ice that you could.
Put on the floor and put your feet on.
That was one of the experiences of this room.
So you know, you got to try as much as possible, even if it’s not your cup of tea.
I wouldn’t.
Really prefer to step.
On ice, but hey.
It was a great experience.
18:19
They also had a.
Butterfly Garden Room Here the entire room was.
Decorated with butterflies, it had the.
Hanging egg chairs, but in different.
Colors up here just a beautiful.
Room it had these.
Archways for the hallway with.
Greenery all over them as a.
18:34
Beautiful walkthrough.
Like if that would be a.
Place you would want to take a video.
Because it’s so beautiful.
So we’re exploring here.
We see that there is a lavender foot experience room, but they’re.
Busy with a class so we said.
We’ll come back.
To that there was.
Also in the very.
Back of the butterfly.
18:50
Room A seaweed sensory experience experience, but it was also had a class going so we said we’d come back to that.
They had a sign out front with this one started on the hour and this one started on the half an hour.
So that’s.
Another really cool thing that you don’t see at a.
Lot of spas is.
19:05
These free included interactive experiences.
That.
They’re not a treatment, but they’re not just a room you go into, there’s actually an attendant there walking you through something.
So.
We then just decided.
Before we have.
Lunch.
We’re going to do one more thing, and that is.
19:22
Go outside to the.
Pools, not the original pools we went to, but the pools on the other side by building #2 and enjoy the.
Pools while.
We still have sunlight.
Remember it’s January, so the sun is going to set probably around 5:00 PM.
And so we go out to the.
Pools.
And in these.
19:37
Pools they have.
These metal.
Bar beds that you.
Can lay on.
They’re ergonomically designed so that you’re perfectly laying comfortably in the pool.
Just your feet are.
Bobbing out of the.
Water a little.
Bit and your head.
They have also have.
The same kind of design, but in chairs.
19:52
Oh my gosh, that was so relaxing.
And the water, of course, is.
Heated.
And it feels so good to be in the water when it’s so cold.
Outside, they also have jets.
Built into these.
Areas so as you’re.
Laying there, we’re sitting on the chair.
You’re also getting the water massage.
Just super, super nice.
20:08
We’re starting to see the sun begin to set.
We can see the beautiful New York City skyline.
We spent a couple.
Hours out here because it was just so lovely, but we.
Did start to get hungry and the sun was setting and there was.
Still stuff that.
We wanted to do.
If you could believe.
This or not, we’d been there.
20:25
For 5-6.
Hours now and there’s still stuff we wanted to do in the spa that we hadn’t done yet.
We decided to do.
The buffet, the.
Buffet was about. $50 per person and it was pretty good.
I did think that.
It was a better.
Value than the Ala carte menu.
20:40
The Ala carte menu was things like sandwiches and I think they had.
Pastries, of course you.
Could get drinks like an apparel spritz or something of that nature, but the portion seemed small.
For the price.
It was like $18.00 for a little Panini, so we thought.
20:56
OK, the buffet.
Is probably going to be better.
The only thing there was a downside of that.
Is for the buffet of you of.
Course have to eat inside.
By the buffet, if we would.
Have got the Ala carte menu.
We could have eaten it in the igloo outside and that’s the one thing we did not do.
Was the igloos outside?
21:13
If we had more time, maybe.
We would have after.
Lunch One of my favorite things to do in a spa is to take a nap.
I just love how.
Spas encourage napping and there’s a lot of rooms to choose from here, but there was one room that I really wanted to go in that we hadn’t been in yet because it was been.
21:28
Too crowded so there’s about 8 full size beds.
In this red light room.
Every bed has its.
Own personal red light above it, it almost just looks like a big cushion and then it has a little pillow on it so super relaxing.
We went in there, we were planning just to hang out for just.
21:46
A little bit, but.
We ended up sleeping for like 45 minutes and when we woke up no one else was in the red light room with us.
And this is what I’m saying about when it starts to get a little bit later in the day.
How?
The crowds really disappear.
When we woke up from the nap.
It was a totally different spa, like 1/4 of the people.
22:02
As when we were first arriving there, so less.
Crowds a lot.
Less I should say.
Squaddies, we do.
Have a ton of.
Other spa reviews too, so go over to Travel Squad podcast dot.
Com slash category slash.
Spas or of.
Course, you can always just search in our search bar to make it really easy for you, but if you want to get some more spa inspiration, that’s a great place.
22:22
To look.
But I am not done with the spot inspiration at QC New York spot if you can believe this or not this.
Just the tip episode.
Is long because there is so much to do here.
After our nap we’re feeling re energized.
We have a plan of all the things that we want to.
22:39
Revisit or still do before the spa closes so we go back.
Up into the big sauna with the cubbies, the like.
Arched Private.
Areas that I was mentioning before, Zena hadn’t done the face mask.
Eucalyptus towel circuit.
So I went back up with her.
22:55
I did it again because it was amazing, wasn’t a rough scrub.
So you can get away with doing it twice in one day.
And we’re standing out in the hallway doing that.
And we’re talking about the things that we still want to do, the lavender foot experience, the seaweed sensory experience.
And I was mentioning that I know there’s a water bedroom, but we just haven’t seen it yet.
23:12
And I don’t know if a staff member heard.
Us or this was just.
Happenstance, but a staff member had.
Just happened to walk.
Up to us and he said.
Oh.
Oh, how are you doing?
How are you enjoying the place?
Did you know that there’s a whole other building over there?
He introduced himself and he said his name.
23:29
Was God’s love.
And he was the.
Super tall.
Ethereal.
African man and he was just.
He like had a.
Really cool energy about him and he saw us doing the face mask and he’s like, oh, let me bring you some sheet masks you can use.
This by the fireplace.
23:44
So we’re like, OK, and we get to talking to him a little bit.
He had mentioned, you know, have you been over to that other room?
We have waterbeds over there and we started laughing.
We were like.
Yes, we have been over.
To the other building but we didn’t see the water bedroom so.
He actually escorted us all the way over there.
24:00
And we get into the butterfly room and there it was, a hidden door.
Because the butterfly wallpaper.
And decor cover the entire wall.
You can’t.
Really.
See the door?
So he takes us in there.
He gives us.
A little eye mask to put on while we lay on the waterbeds, the ceiling of this room.
24:19
They’re projecting black and white scenes, not necessarily a movie, but kind of abstract.
And they’re changing and it’s just a beautiful place to float.
And we kind of used our eye mask for 15 minutes and.
Called it a day.
Out of that room, but that was really cool.
24:35
I’m glad we looped back around and were able to find that.
So in this areas where the lavender classes and the seaweed.
Experiences.
So we’re there.
Perfect on time anyway.
The lavender class was a really cool. 30 minutes session where there’s like these?
Chairs fit for a.
24:50
King all around this big room, lavender smell is coming out of it and then there’s an attendant there and he gave everyone these foot masks.
You put your own foot mask on, they’re like.
These plastic socks with.
Product inside and then he takes you through about a 20 minute foot massage.
25:09
That you give yourself but he tells you.
Okay, rub the side of your foot like this.
Pound your foot like this and count to. 5 or.
Do this for 5 minutes.
It was amazing.
I’m telling you TMI, I should.
Have got a pedicure for before this.
Trip and I was really regretting it when my foot came out of that foot mask.
25:25
It was like.
A whole new foot.
It was gorgeous.
So don’t skip the lavender.
Experience.
They also had these massage rollers with every chair so you could give yourself a little.
Massage, rolling foot massage there too if you happen to come a little.
Bit early or?
Get in there when no one else is there.
25:41
Right after that, we jetted over to.
The sensory experience now if.
I had to skip.
This one again I would because it was a little strange.
It was a similar.
Type setup with big.
Chairs all around the room.
Very different chairs though they were.
Almost like private spaces.
25:57
You couldn’t see the other person sitting next to you if you were leaned back and then they had drawers that you pull.
Out that would be your.
Stand for your feet and it was supposed to be an experience where all the five senses were being touched so you could see the skyline.
Outside you could eat the seaweed you.
26:14
Use the Imas first feeling.
We kind of just sat in this.
Room for like. 15 minutes and that was the experience.
So you could probably skip that one, but.
Hey, I always say.
When you go to a spa, you have.
To do it all.
So if.
You have the time for it, try to do it.
And that was our day.
We were getting close to closing time and we still wanted to take a shower.
26:32
Blow dry hair, do all of that kind of stuff.
Before we got back on the ferry.
And so we kind of.
Wrapped it up there.
I do love that they had.
Dyson hair dryers and they had lotions and serums for your face.
They had one for anti aging, one for hydration and then.
We grabbed a little.
26:48
Coffee on the way out and jumped on the ferry.
Final verdict I now will be rating SPAS on a 5 star scale.
I’m going to rate it on experiences, food and drink, comfort, atmosphere, and value.
Here’s what I say.
27:03
About experiences. 5 stars.
Amazing.
I’ve never been to a spa with more experiences.
It was so great.
Food and drink 3.5 stars.
They do serve alcoholic.
Drinks.
They do have nice waters and teas and coffees out in the different rooms.
I will say the buffet was good.
27:19
But a lot.
Of these, higher priced spas will provide the buffet.
Included.
That was not the case here.
So it was expensive and there were limited options.
That is why it gets the three-point.
Five stars comfort.
I’m also going to give this 3.5.
Stars the robes.
27:35
Did not have pockets, which is fine.
Not everyone wants to bring their phone, but sometimes people do need their phone.
If they need to maybe stay connected for children or they want to bring a medication, they needed pockets.
Second, the.
Slippers or the sandals that they gave us.
27:52
Were extremely uncomfortable.
Plastic.
They hurt.
To walk in, actually I I wouldn’t have worn them if I was given the choice and then you do get.
Two towels, so that’s.
Good.
Some spas don’t even give you one towel.
But after you use.
So many of the wet rooms, one of your towels is trenched and the other towel you’re using for a shower.
28:08
So it was 3 towels.
Or the option to trade a towel that would have allowed me to bump this up.
Atmosphere, the views, the vibes. 4.5 stars, amazing views, amazing vibes.
I like that it was social. I like that it was welcoming, it wasn’t too loud, great and value 4 stars.
28:25
So everything I just went over, was it worth?
The price percent could have been a little bit better, sure, of course, but overall Final Verdict 4.1 stars.
It has my full endorsement. I do recommend you go if you can make the time in New York City.
Squaddies if you have a spa recommendation for me anywhere in the world, please let me know, I’d love to hear it.
And thank you so much for tuning in to Just the Tip.
