Girls Trip Destinations – Episode Transcript
And get ready to embark on a new adventure with us around the globe.
Hey squaties, welcome to this week’s Just the Tip.
Today we are going to be taking you to several different Girls Trip destinations just in time for Galentine’s Day.
Yeah, a girls trip is great, but Galentine’s Day is an even better way to spend it.
0:54
So we’re going to talk about 5 different destinations that we recommend and they have different themes to them.
So we’re going to talk about a beach destination, a wine region, a adventure hiking destination, one for spa relaxation, and one that focuses on city and nightlife.
1:10
So no matter your type of girls group, you should be able to find one that fits in for you guys.
Every girls trip needs a few essentials, and the first one I recommend is matching something right.
It could be matching pajamas like short sleeve shorts or long sleeve pants.
1:27
Matching pajamas, we’ve done that on girls trips in the past, could be matching outfits, matching purses, coordinating.
Looks like you’ve got to have something like that.
Some other things that we recommend bringing are perfume spray bottles.
You can’t always bring the full 1, so we found a really great atomizer that you can transport your scents.
1:46
I always love this with Girl Stripes too.
When you’re getting ready together and you discover, Oh my God, I love that perfume.
What’s that scent?
Or Oh my God, I love that concealer.
You just like discover new products and brands.
Some other things we recommend is whenever we’re in like a girls group, we always do like face masks or collagen masks or bringing sleeping eye masks so you can really like get some great sleep while you’re on this trip.
2:07
Those are great items to have together and it works out well if you buy like a pack and then like Kim gets the eye masks and I get the collagen mask or whatever.
So you can share products that way.
To make little goodie bags for your girls trip, that’s always fun too.
I always recommend the travel jewelry organizer because because you’re putting looks together when you’re on girls trips, right?
2:28
So keep all your jewelry organized.
I have a portable steamer that I’ll bring on certain girls trips, especially if you’re talking about the city nightlife 1 and you have like cute dresses that you’re trying to wear a little travel steamers good for that.
We also have a crossbody bag that’s linked, which is also really great for the city nightlife one because it will hook in your phone and it has a little wallet on the outside of it.
2:49
And then we always recommend bringing a tripod because you want everyone to be in the group pick.
We bring a tripod on every girls trip we go on because you got to get the shots whether you’re in your room and you’re taking pics before you go out or you’re out and about and there’s no one else around.
3:05
Girls know how to get their own pics.
And the tripod with the remote that you Bluetooth in to snap the photo with is so good for that.
All right, let’s get into our first girls trip destination that’s going to inspire you.
And this we’re talking about beach, beach destination in Tulum, Mexico.
3:23
So I’ve.
Been to Tulum, Mexico, it wasn’t on a girls trip.
I went with Jamal but I feel like it’s a great place for a girls trip.
And Kim is actually planning a girls trip here in fall of 2026.
I aim to do it for my birthday in November so we’ll see if that comes to fruition.
3:39
But it’s amazing I’ve been as well.
I’ve been with family during the day but it’s a great place for beach clubs by day, cute dinners by night.
It’s got the relaxation with the beach but it also show how’s adventure.
You could go cenote days, ruins, there’s yoga, there’s spiritual.
3:55
It’s a beautiful aesthetic place.
Definitely a place to see and be seen.
But even more than that, it can be a fantastic place for nightlife shows, DJ’s, dancing clubs, meeting guys, not meeting guys, whatever your thing is.
4:12
Great place for a girls trip.
We do have a seven day to Loom itinerary and it goes over cenotes, places to eat, fun things to do while you’re there.
And as we were talking earlier about some girls trip essentials, we’re talking about matching something.
This is a great place to get matching bathing suits.
4:29
Or coordinating, right.
So like if you’re doing a animal print theme, everyone in the group have a different animal print.
Someone does tiger, someone does cheetah, we got zebra.
And you just like look so cute.
And it just UPS the ante with the girls trip.
So fun.
We’re also going to recommend a place to stay each one of these destinations.
4:45
So a hot place to stay in Tulum would be the Conrad Tulum Riviera Maya.
It’s a huge, gorgeous beachfront resort, has an amazing pool, great location.
You just feel like you’re on vacation and it really makes your girls trip that much more special.
5:02
And Squatty’s, every hotel that we recommend or items that we recommend, we’re going to have linked below in our show notes.
So the second destination we’re going to talk about is the wine region.
And we’re going to talk about Napa wine region in California.
5:18
Kim, myself and Robin actually did a girls trip here in October of 2024 and it was the perfect girls trip.
I feel like wine trips are great because there’s no stress in the planning other than picking your wineries, right?
Like that is going to be the bulk of your day is hopping to different wineries that are on site.
5:35
So that’s the hardest part, picking out which ones.
But other than that, you just sit back, relax, sip some wine, eat some really really good food, have some charcuterie boards, enjoy the vineyards and the scenery.
Two wineries that we’d recommend that we did when we were on a girls trip are Sterling Vineyards and St.
5:53
Supre.
Beautiful properties, you can really just sit back and relax for a while.
They do food and wine pairings as well so you can get a little bite to eat.
Highly recommend these two places, but you really can’t go wrong with any winery in the greater Napa region.
Some wineries even have like little props so that you can take pictures in the vineyards.
6:12
That’s always fun as well.
With your tripod.
With your tripod and Napa has a really good food scene, so other than picking out places to drink and eat and stroll around, that’s going to be your focus of the trip.
This is a really great trip for birthdays, bachelorettes, or even milestone trips.
6:30
And a girls trip.
You want to dress up, either it’s dressing up for going out hiking or dressing up going out on the town.
Wineries are the best place to dress up for you.
It’s just a winery chic look that you can do without being too over the top, and Napa is the perfect place to do it.
6:45
We even have a weekend Napa itinerary that goes over everything that we did during our girls trip.
We got matching pajamas for this trip and if you’re here in the area, we recommend staying at the Elm House Inn.
It’s like a mansion B&B vibe.
7:02
Destination #3 This is for the adventurer or the person that likes hiking and that is Sedona, AZ.
Great, you did a girls trip here, didn’t you?
Yeah, I actually went with our honorary Squaddy Kasha.
We did a girls trip here in November of 2022 and it’s perfect.
7:18
I know Kim, you’ve been to Sedona as well.
You know how beautiful it is with those beautiful red rocks?
You can go hiking there.
There’s a tons and tons of hikes to choose from.
It’s also a really good place for spiritual and Wellness because it has vortexes.
7:34
Kim, you’ve actually done yoga out here in Sedona, and sound baths are popular in this area as well.
It’s another good place too, where there’s a lot of really good places to eat.
So you go out for brunch, then you go for a hike, then you can go out to lunch and then go for an evening hike.
7:50
So there’s a lot that you can get in.
You can still be really active, but enjoy all of the food and scenery around you.
This would be the perfect girls trip to get matching workout sets or fitness dresses.
Brittany you and I have coordinating fitness dresses.
Same dress different color.
8:05
That would be a great thing, like a three piece matching pants set or a fitness dress and you you’re out there doing your thing in the Sedona desert.
It has red rocks, so maybe some Blues or whites would look really good against that red rock background.
I would also recommend staying at the Wild Resort and Spa.
8:22
It’s a big, beautiful resort right in the heart of Sedona.
Great location surrounded by the red rocks.
And there’s a spa on site.
So you can balance out that relaxation, the spiritual healing with the vortexes, the hiking, the dining out with a little spa and relaxation.
8:38
And I can’t think of a more perfect girls trip.
Speaking of spas, the ultimate spa and relaxation destination.
Now there’s many of them out there, but my biased favorite is going to be Austin, TX.
It’s perfect for a girls trip because Austin, especially in the warmer months, in the summer, it’s designed for lounging, pools, spas, sunshine.
9:02
That’s all there is to do.
You can go to the lake, you can go to the pool, you can go to actual spas.
It’s also really easy.
Fly right on into Austin.
Boston has a great airport, don’t have to move around too much.
You can rent a car or you can just take an Uber to where you’re going and stay put for the whole time.
9:19
I think it’s a fantastic destination to just recharge.
It could be a great place to escape after busy seasons like the holiday season.
It’s a great birthday destination, great Bachelorette party destination, or could be just a great like best friend girls trip.
9:37
Jim, I feel like since you’ve moved to Texas, you have gone spa crazy and you’ve visited so many spas in Texas and Austin in general.
We’ve been talking about you building a spa guide.
I don’t remember if it was for Austin specifically, if we’re just like.
Texas general Texas spa guide coming soon.
9:53
You know, and I’ve never really pegged Texas as a spa destination before, but it makes sense and I feel like I see you all the time go to different spas in Austin or the surrounding areas.
So it is a great spa location.
The more.
You start getting into spas, the more you realize there’s a lot of spa destinations all around the country, places you wouldn’t expect.
10:13
I was just asking you about Santa Fe because there is a spa called Oh Ho in Santa Fe that I’d really like to go to.
So maybe 2026 will bring that.
Maybe we’ll have a little girls trip there.
But for Austin, coming back to this, where I’d recommend you stay, if you want to go all out on this girls trip, stay at either Lake Austin Spa Resort or Miraval.
10:33
Both of them are absolutely beautiful resorts situated on the lake and they have daily activities for spiritual Wellness, things like sound bath or breath work, fitness classes, outdoor activities like hikes or adventures on the lake that comes with your full service healthy food included.
10:50
And it’s just a luxury relaxing stay like you will be in a robe the entire time.
It will be amazing, you will love it.
I’m dying to do this even though I’m a local.
It’s a little bit of a splurge, but if you’re willing to splurge amazing.
Now say you’re not quite willing to splurge that much, you can stay for a little bit of a lesser price at the Omni Barton Creek.
11:10
It has a great spa.
It’s also surrounded by beautiful green landscape in Austin and the West side of Austin, and you can stay there and use the spa, enjoy the relaxation there.
But you can also take a little bit of a drive about an hour out to Gonzales, TX.
11:26
Go to Atene Mineral Springs.
Amazing, beautiful.
No matter where you stay though you can do different spa type activities, relaxation activities in Austin.
Some things that I’d recommend are just a simple walk around Lady Bird Lake, on the trails and on the paths.
You can do Pilates reformer on the deck of the lake with Soma Reform, or you can partake in the many, many, many free fitness and Wellness events that happen every single week in Austin.
11:52
Just look on Sweat Pals and you will be sure to find something.
Most of them are free too.
Kim, as a local, which month would you recommend Best to go for the spa relaxation girls trip?
I think spring and even fall, I think I would say fall first spring, 2nd fall, maybe September, October, even into November.
12:13
You don’t want it to be too, too hot to where you can’t really enjoy a hot tub, but you don’t want it to be too cold where you wouldn’t enjoy a pool, right?
You want that sweet spot.
So September, October would be perfect or even April.
May spring can be a little bit rainy but just check the weather.
12:29
But may could be a really good time on this trip since you’re having spa and relaxation Sleeping eye masks would be a great gift for a girls trip to bring matching sleeping eye masks so you guys can just relax in the nap room of the spa.
Put those masks on and up the ante with your Girls Trip.
12:45
And the one we have linked is actually a four pack, so it’s perfect for a group of girls.
So last on our list that we’re going to talk about is a trip that revolves around city and nightlife, and we picked Miami.
I love Miami, I have done many a trips to Miami.
I just did a girls trip to Miami in September 25.
13:03
So much fun.
It’s the city life, it’s the nightlife.
It also has beach which adds even more to it.
Highly recommend.
I’m actually going back to Miami here in a couple of weeks.
I’m so excited.
Not a girls trip, but a romantic trip.
I feel like you need to make a Miami itinerary for the Squaddy.
13:20
I do, and I also need to move to Miami and I’m working on that.
What nightlife do you like in Miami?
Where do you recommend?
So there’s a ton of nightlife depending on what you’d like to do.
There’s bars that are more casual, there’s rooftop bars galore in Miami.
There’s actual clubs in Miami.
13:37
And the club scene is crazy because the bars already don’t close to like 4 in the morning.
But then the club’s space nightclub does not close.
It’s always open.
And depending on who’s playing there, they might have different times.
So you can go in Elevens right across the street.
Those are two iconic clubs in Miami.
13:54
But if you don’t go to clubs, there’s still so much fun stuff to do.
It’s walkable, it’s energetic.
There’s so many good restaurants in Miami.
Downtown and Brickell have a lot of really, really great restaurants.
It’s very artsy.
The great thing about Miami too, it’s like it’s the city that really never sleeps.
14:11
It’s there’s always something going on any time of year.
The weather’s good any time of year, but certain occasions throughout the year bring events to Miami.
Art Basel, Music Week, Art Week.
There’s different festivals like Ultra that come to Miami that just brings in even more people, even more nightlife and city vibes and can be a really good time to pair your girls trip with.
14:34
This is where the tripod comes in because this is a perfect place to use your tripod.
Getting ready for the girls night going out?
Bring that with you.
Also bring that crossbody bag that can carry your phone and your wallet.
You don’t want to carry too big of a bag into these nightclubs.
You want just something minimal, but that carries the essentials.
14:52
And then Miami also has the beach too, so not every city has the beach aspect to it, but Miami it makes it that much better because you can have a relaxing morning walk on the beach or you could go rent a chair at Nikki Beach and keep the day club party vibes going in Miami there too.
15:08
I would recommend you stay at Fountain Blue Miami.
It’s in South Beach, but a little bit more north, not so so far South.
So it’s a good location.
It’s a gorgeous resort right on the beach, very vibey, but it also has its own nightlife, so there’s a club there and a lot of events happened there, so you could be right in the heart of it in your stay.
15:29
So Squatty’s these are the five trips that we have for you guys to send this episode to your girlfriend group chat and DM us with what trip makes it out of the chat this year.
Hey and invite me on your girls trip.
I I love a good girls trip.
Squaddies, thank you so much for tuning in to just the tip.
