Hey squaddies, Travel Squad Podcast is back with Just the tip, our Friday mini episode series where we give you quick travel stories, hacks and recommendations to set you off into your weekend.

0:51

Right today you just have me, Kim, to give you an inside look at another one of my spa days.

This spa day was at the Aria Spa and Salon in Las Vegas.

And if you love spas as much as we all do here at Travel Squad Podcast and make sure to go back to hear some of our previous spa review reviews.

1:09

We’ve done one on the World Springs in Dallas, the Lake Austin Spa Resort in Austin, and the Seven Step Ritual at Sky Lagoon in Iceland.

So I decided to spoil myself on my 35th birthday with a spa day in treatment at the Aria Spa.

It is a luxurious retreat in none other than the Aria Resort and Casino on the Strip.

1:31

It’s an 80,000 square foot Oasis escape of relaxation and rejuvenation in very stark contrast to the bustling and chaotic energy on the Strip.

It has a contemporary elegance, cutting edge amenities and it is noted as one of the top spas in Las Vegas.

1:50

Very much celebrated and has been there for a minute now.

So I’m going to give you a feel of what it’s like when you first get in there.

You check in, you’ll want to arrive at least three hours before your scheduled treatment so that you can enjoy the amenities that they have there.

Once you get checked in, you’ll be given a little tour around the spa and then you’ll be escorted to your locker.

2:09

In your locker you will find a very nice robe, Kim approved robe and sandals that you can wear throughout the spa.

They also have different amenities in the locker room like hair brushes, Hairspray, gel, mousse.

They do have six vanities where you can get ready after your experience there, so I would recommend bringing your hair products, your makeup to get ready there.

2:33

I didn’t do that and I really wish that I would have.

However, when I did finish my experience here and was getting ready to go, the vanities were really full with people, so I would have had to wait a lot longer to actually get seated there anyway.

So take that with a grain of salt, but I would recommend you do bring it so that you can just hit the ground running on the spot afterwards.

2:54

So what the spa has to offer and why you want to get there three hours early, They have several different rooms that you can experience.

And you do want to do this before your treatment because you’re going to get either a facial or massage or some type of treatment where you’re getting product put on you and you don’t want to rinse it off afterwards.

3:12

So plan for that.

My treatment was at noon, so I got there around 9:00 AM and I think that was a good amount of time.

I think any less time, you wouldn’t really be able to enjoy it.

You could of course, come and spend more time there and here’s what you’ll do.

So they have a Himalayan salt room with beds that are in this perfect ergonomic shape where your middle of your body is lower, your feet are higher, head is higher.

3:35

It’s so comfortable and so peaceful in there and there’s spa music playing throughout.

So you have this orange glow all around you just centering your chakras and your energy and it’s a really, really good place to take a nap.

They also have little mini water bottles all throughout the spa.

3:51

So they have cold ones in fridges.

They have room temperature ones.

They also have other beverages that you can get.

I would recommend grabbing one of those and just posting up in that room.

Right across from that room, they have these Japanese hot stone beds.

So it’s a dark room with spa music playing.

4:09

And it essentially looks like a very large shelf where you can sit up there and lay in there.

And then they have stone dividers between each bed.

You’ll clearly see the outline of the bed where it’s heated.

And I have never laid in a bed like this.

4:25

And you wouldn’t necessarily think laying on a hard stone bed would be comfortable, but I am here to tell you, it was so comfortable.

They have these little wooden pillows on there and you can just lay there on that bed in your robe.

Oh my God, it’s so comfortable.

4:41

Both of these rooms are Coed, so if you are a male and a female, you can enjoy that time here together.

I definitely took a nap in both of these rooms, probably 20 minute nap in both of these areas and I loved both of them.

It’s hard to say which one I liked more because they were both really, really nice.

4:59

And even though there’s only a few beds, maybe 5 beds in each room, and it’s a large spa, the busy spa, I did not have any trouble getting a spot both times that I went in there.

The other Coed area that they have is outdoors.

They have somewhat small Whirlpool.

5:17

It’s about 92°, which felt pretty nice on this day in Vegas.

I was there in November, so it was a chilly day, but it was sunny so it was really nice to be outside.

Like I said, it’s Coed.

They do have some lounge beds out there too, so if you just wanted to lounge by the pool in your robe you could do that.

5:34

I really really enjoyed this.

There’s not a view, even though you’re very high U, there’s no view, which would be better if there was.

But regardless, it’s still a nice little Oasis outside where you can enjoy yourself.

Now they have gender specific areas as well.

5:50

So they have inside the gender specific area, a big room that has three different pools.

They have a very large Whirlpool therapy pool that is heated to a very nice degree.

Really nice to sit in there and then right next to it they have two other smaller pools. 1 is a very hot hot tub Whirlpool and then the other is a cold plunge.

6:13

Right next to these three pools.

They also have two other rooms. 1 is a super steamy room, like you cannot see anything when you’re in there and I loved this room.

I went in there a couple of times actually.

You’re just steaming it up, getting everything out.

6:30

It feels really, really good in there and I can’t explain it.

It’s amazing though.

It feels amazing.

The room right next to it is a dry, hot sauna.

And I love a sauna.

I love the sauna cold punch.

That is the optimal way to go.

However, my only critique about the Aria Spa is that the hot sauna was not hot.

6:51

A sauna should be like 140°.

This sauna was like 95°.

It was not hot coming out of a pool and going into the sauna, I was cold.

Actually, it was probably like 95°.

That’s not hot enough for a sauna.

So my circuit here was hot, steamy room, then hot tub Whirlpool, not the hottest 1, the hot Whirlpool, then the cold plunge.

7:16

Now I’ve always been a little bit of a baby when it comes to the cold plunge, but I have got to say I loved it.

I was swimming like a little fish in a pond in this cold plunge.

It felt so good after being in the hot, steamy room.

And then the hot Whirlpool.

7:34

I think I did this circuit like three times and then I went over to their station that has water.

It also has a bucket of ice and washcloths in it.

So you get this washcloth with ice stuck all over it.

You can put it on your face while you’re sitting in one of those hot therapy whirlpools.

7:51

That is a supreme experience.

So with all those different experiences, after your three hours has about passed, you can head into your treatment room in the locker rooms.

There’s also these other rooms for treatments that include red light therapy.

8:07

It looks like something you can go into, but you actually cannot.

They are paid treatments.

I wish that they were available because they’re right there and they’re kind of teasing you and it looks really cool.

But nevertheless, after that experience, I went to go wait for my treatment to start and there is a relaxation room that you can enjoy, coffee, tea, chocolate, Madeline cakes.

8:29

I think they rotate what’s in there and so you can have a little snack before you get called in for your treatment.

So I was called in for my treatment.

What I booked is a citrus essential facial and body wrap.

It’s about a 90 minute experience and I never had a body wrap.

8:48

I’ve had facials before, but I’m not obsessed with facials.

I actually more wanted a massage.

But then I saw the body wrap and I’ve always been really interested in it, so I wanted to give it a try.

It’s a citrus experience that transforms the feel of your skin and your mood.

It’s a powerful antioxidant treatment with pure vitamin C for your face and body.

9:07

It targets hyperpigmentation, protects against free radicals, and intensely hydrates the skin.

I have to say that is true.

It intensely hydrates the skin.

OI got called back.

My aesthetician took me back to my private room.

The bed was warmed, so when you get into it, Oh my God, it just feels so nice.

9:29

And of course you remove your swimsuit and you’re just in your birthday suit there, which is very fitting for a birthday spa experience.

So before she got started, she let me know that it was going to be a scrub first, then a shower, then the wrap with the body butter.

9:44

And I told her, no, no, no, I do not want to scrub.

I just did a self tan.

I do not want that being scrubbed off on my second day here in Vegas.

So we negotiated a really thick mask, then a shower, then the body butter.

And I’m really glad that I did this actually.

10:02

I’m sure the scrub would have been amazing.

That would have made your skin feel even nicer.

But being that I didn’t really want that, I loved the mask.

She painted it on.

And it’s not a lotion that will rub into your skin.

It’s a thick white mask that’s intensely hydrating your skin.

10:20

Like when I took a shower, I had to really work to get it off of my skin because it was so thick.

So she puts all that thick mask on your body, wrapped you up in the sheet that you’re laying on, and you feel just like a little cocoon.

She starts to do a little bit of facial work on my face just as Part 1.

10:39

And then she lets me know, OK, it’s time to take a shower.

And she kind of like lifts the sheet and escorts me to the shower.

I just felt like, oh, I’m so helpless.

I need your help.

And it was, it was funny, but it was amazing.

She starts to shower for me.

She puts me in there, she leaves, I do my thing and then she comes back after I’m in the bed again.

11:01

So she like redid the bed.

It’s warm, it’s nice, it’s beautiful.

I get in, she comes back in and then she does almost the exact same thing.

Put a lotion all over my body.

It’s not that thick mask this time, it’s the body butter that’s going to just seep into my skin.

11:17

So she puts that on, she wraps me up and then she starts working on the other parts of the facial, doing the different thick products that go on your face.

She did some extractions and then when that facial part is done, she unwraps you, rubs all the body butter into your skin and then you’re just about done.

11:37

Did I love it?

What is my final review?

Yes, 100%.

I absolutely loved it.

My skin has never felt softer.

I can’t even imagine how much more soft it could have possibly felt with the scrub.

It was so soft I couldn’t stop touching myself.

11:54

I really did feel rejuvenated and relaxed, especially considering I only had three hours of sleep the night before after my first night in Vegas.

So I was hurting a little bit when I went into the spa and I left feeling so good, ready to take on my birthday night.

12:09

I do think it would be a really great place to go with girlfriends.

There were plenty of girlfriends there together.

I don’t know that it would be ideal for couples.

I think some of the other spas have more, less gendered areas where you can enjoy male and female places together.

Even though Arya Spa did have a couple gendered areas, there are some gender specific ones.

12:29

So I think going with a partner, probably you can find a better spot for that.

Would I go again?

Yeah.

I mean, I’m not opposed to it.

I had a really great experience there, 10 out of 10, maybe 9 out of 10 because the sauna didn’t get as hot as it should have.

I just think there’s so many other spas in Las Vegas that I probably wouldn’t return to Aria Spa right away because I’d like to try other ones, not because it was amazing, because it was.

12:54

I would really like to try the Fountain Blue Lapis Spa.

They have this low tide celestial waters experience.

It’s a four hour pass where you can go into their event sauna, experience, their stargazing lounge, vitality pools, steam room, infrared sauna, which is what was a paid experience here at Aria.

13:13

They have a Himalayan salt room, a star and snow showers, salt mist therapy, oxygen therapy, heated tepidarium, which I don’t even know what that is, tepidarium chairs and cold pledge pools.

So the Fountain Blue spa is high on my list.

You have to book that super far in advance though.

13:30

Caesar’s Quad Baths.

It’s like a Roman bath, 3 hour access pass that also includes cedar wood sauna, herbal steam room, Arctic ice room, tea lounge, hot stone, and they have a really cool hot stone massage there, which I love.

And then I was also looking at the golden Nuggets chakra gemstone massage that would also include a steam room, cedar sauna and hot plunge.

13:51

For all those reasons, I would love to go back to Aria, but there’s a lot out there so I probably wouldn’t.

And then just my last note on price, the access to the spa plus the experience that I got and I should say this, the experience is what you purchase.

14:07

Then it comes with the access to the spa.

You can’t buy the access to the spa alone like you can with some others.

So for that whole experience with tip, it was about 425, a little bit high, but a lot of spas are and it’s Vegas, so to be expected.

14:23

I think it was money well spent.

And that is my review on the Aria Spawn Salon.
